FAST COMPUTER. NO DVD-ROM inspite of picture. Uses a new type monitor hookup. Be sure-read the specs
It is easy to setup. Window 11 takes a little getting used to. IT IS FAST. My old (age 4 years) windows 10 computer kept getting slower with each update to the OS. My work at home job was literally impossible to do anymore with the slow speed waiting for programs to start up or process or download. I work 12 to 14 hours a day at the computer managing graduate students. I was at my wits end with the dragging old computer. Money at this point was no object. This new computer makes it possible again to get the work done.

The fast boot that the Win 11 software offered me is a relief having.
My older PC came up with the annoying message that it was incompatible with the requirements of Win11. Fortunately, the PC I am reviewing did meet the requirements and provided it. The fast boot Win 11 offers is such an enormous time saver, it seems to boot in 30 seconds. No matter what other problem I encounter that alone is worth having. I am not claiming you are without problems by owning this Dell for I have had the usual share but I have owned it now just shy of a year and I made the right choice purchasing it.

There's no HDMI port !!!!! Don't be so cheap Dell !!!
Well we're not getting setup today. Come on Dell, do better. I even have multiple usb-c to HDMI adaptors but nothing, no video. The usb mouse and keyboard work through the adapter but Dell's initial image must not have the drivers for displaying video in the initial setup. Windows will pull them off the internet once its connected but it has to go through setup first. I had an old display port to HDMI adapter that essentially had self welded into the socket of an old graphics card but that didn't survive removal. DVI sucked 10 years ago and still does today. Why Dell???

Good computer, but not quite as described on the Amazon website.
This is the latest in a long series of Dell computers that I have owned. It works fine and was reasonably priced. My only problem with it is that it didn't come with an HDMI port as was advertised. I had to run out and find a Display Port cord to connect the monitor.

Great Value
I needed a new workhorse for daily use and occasional CAD work, and this machine works fine for this purpose out of the box. Very up-gradable platform if I ever wanted to. The Intel UHD 770 graphics work fine but stick with Dell drivers, don't go directly to Intel for the "latest" or you might cause yourself problems. Only has only one display port which is not a problem, if your monitors support daisy chaining. Not loaded with bloatware (although some may argue that Windows 11 itself is bloatware). I have the air cooled version and it is quiet, but I usually have some streaming music playing, so I don't hear it at all. If the room is quiet, I can hear it, but it does not disturb me. The XPS 8950 was just what I was looking for, a straight ahead no non-sense solid tower PC.

Not all components backed by Dell
Purchased this and it arrived "dead on arrival". Wouldn't boot, not signal to monitor. Called Dell and they had me attempt to boot etc. Power button was flashing an error code (four white, two yellow). Had me pull all the RAM cards and attempt to reboot. All to no avail. Dell tech said I needed a new motherboard and they send one to a tech two hours away. I was impressed with how Dell handled the situation, the motherboard arrived the next day, the technician called and said he would be at my home at around noon which he was. Installed the new motherboard and it still wouldn't boot. Technician diagnosed the problem to be one of the 4 8gb RAM sticks that were installed. It would boot with the damaged one removed. He called Dell and Dell informed him that the unit was shipped with only 8gb of RAM, not the 32GB that I received. It also wasn't shipped with the 1Tb HDD. Computer was actually shipped by Dell to a company in California and they installed the additional RAM and HDD. Dell would not cover those items so my only choice was to either return the unit or deal with the California company. I chose to return the unit. Just be aware that you are not purchasing this from Dell and Dell will not cover the items they did not install. The RAM strip they installed was Lenovo and the faulty one was not.

Stopped working after 2 years
It went into sleep mode and never came out of it. It's a shame it worked very well for two (2) years. It's time for a new Dell product.

Awesome Desktop PC!
I have had no problems with this unit. It worked great out of the box. It updated and updated the BIOS, with no issues. It has plenty of power and handles everything I have thrown at it. This is a great buy. Bear in mind you need DisplayPort cable for your monitor. Read everything BEFORE you buy. This eliminates issues from the start. I got a great curved monitor and am very happy with this setup. I recommend it highly.
