Not what I expected but very useful and worth getting
This book was not what I expected. What I had anticipated was a book outlining more obscure walks to take within Tokyo with interesting cultural and historical features. Instead, the book features walks in the major areas you would expect for Tokyo tourism. Nevertheless, I really like the book and it gave me a number of ideas of sights to see that I hadn't identified through internet research. The book is incredibly well thought out, giving helpful information such as good places to visit if it's raining, where public bathrooms are, and the author's go-to cafes and lunch spots in each of the 42 areas he features. If there is one thing I would have liked to see more of it would have been more general descriptions of each of the neighborhoods he features in the walks with an explanation of *why* I should want to go to that neighborhood; instead, the author shies away from giving his subjective opinion regarding the neighborhoods and places he features, so you're left wondering whether the area is worth visiting. Nevertheless, this is a very well thought out and useful book and I highly recommend it for anyone planning a visit to Tokyo.

Extremely Helpful Guide
Axel has shared his intimate knowledge of how to get around Tokyo in a logical, orderly way. It is engineer's mind meets travel. He provides helpful guides for making your way around the most important areas of Tokyo with tips on how to get there, what to see, and even recommendations for where to eat. An invaluable resource for anyone planning a trip to Tokyo. That is why I bought the book and it has transformed my plans. Highly recommended.

Found some hidden gems
Exactly what I was looking for. This gave me great guidance for some areas to explore and find some real 'hidden' gems. Off the beaten path as well as some must see attractions. We were there for a week and sampled something from this book each day. The food tips were also a nice touch.

So useful!
I spent a week in Tokyo and loved this book. Mr Schwab gets the joy of leisurely travel, walks broken by coffee and lunch. We appreciated the small maps, the small size, and the organization by walk.

wish there's a "Maze" book for every city
After visiting many touristy sites in past visits to Tokyo, I just wanted to explore various neighborhoods in Tokyo. This book was exactly what I was looking for. It detailed both the touristy and less well known places (to tourists) in each neighborhood, organized by train stations. I especially appreciated the restaurant recommendation (1 per neighborhood so it wasn't overwhelming). Having this book felt like I had a local person giving me insider's tips on places to visit and where to eat! Wish the author also lives in other cities in Asia so that there are other "Maze" books.

Book is upside down
Open the book and you are on the last page. Book is upside down and the last page is right after the front cover.

It describes a lot of locations.
But when you get there, you really don't need it. Made me more courageous to take walks, but then again the way the locations are organized it's kind of boring. Really thought this was a walking route book, but it wasn't.

Fantastico, lo consiglio a tutti
Straconsigliato.

Wonder meandering walks away from the main tourist hotspots
Planning another trip away this year and trying to find walking guides has been tricky. This looks exactly like the kind of thing we like to do when we are in need of some structure

Super informative
First of all, this book was absolutely mangled when it arrived, mostly due to amazon's shoddy packaging. That aside, this is an excellent and interesting guide to Tokyo. I travel there fairly often and I'm looking forward to exploring new parts of a city that always seems to have something new to discover. So much more here than your typical tourist guides, I'd highly recommend this book
