The Uncommon Cold: Haven’t felt really sick in 4 years
I’ve been taking Tru Niagen for 4 years. I haven’t felt very sick to the point of missing a day of work this whole time. In my 20s, I didn’t really care that much if I got sick. A cold back then went something like, start feeling sick, which meant mainly getting a sore throat as the first symptom which after a couple days that would fade and it would turn more into a very runny nose for a few days and then that would just fade away. By my late 30s and early 40s, with small kids in school, I started getting sick way more often and when I did, it was way worse. Colds would usually start the same, but would drag on much longer. They would more often turn into a bad head cold where I believe I’d tend to get secondary sinus infections because my head would get very congested and I’d be blowing gross colored stuff out my nose for days if not weeks. And the tail end of these colds would seem to drag on much longer than when I was younger. Much more often I’d feel like my colds would affect my lungs. Around age 40 I even had a tough bout with pneumonia. I don’t want it to sound like I’ve been sickly. But it’s just to say that colds were really no fun, and as I said with kids in school, they felt like they were just kind of non stop. Then 4 years ago I started taking Tru Niagen and I didn’t know what to expect at the time. But it took me around 20 months to finally be able to admit to myself that I hadn’t hardly felt sick in that whole time, and I just at that point had no other explanation than Tru Niagen. Now it’s been 4 years and it still amazes me that all those nasty colds feel like they are a thing of the past. Now, the vast majority of time, when a cold starts running through the family, I’ll usually just feel off for a couple days. I might really feel like that sore throat is starting, but then most often it just seems to get better before it gets worse. I had a cold a couple months ago that was a bit more serious, which is to say, it felt just like back in my 20s. Sore throat, followed by 2 days of my nose running clear but excessively. And then…it just kind of faded away. I worked from home through this and didn’t miss a day of work. I was still functional enough to do my part at home - I wasn’t sacked out in bed at all. And the big thing is that clear runny nose. The head cold never transformed into that terrible sinus thing. I follow the research on Nicotinamide Riboside, and I’ve come to learn that my anecdotal experience does have roots in real and fairly cutting edge science which suggests that colds do deplete NAD. I trust the Tru Niagen brand. I know it is made in the USA and has GRAS FDA status. The company that makes it is really good about playing by the rules. That’s why I now keep a bottle of Tru Niagen Immune and I swap in those capsules whenever I feel like a cold could be coming my way. Tru Niagen isn’t a miracle cure all. It can’t replace an unhealthy lifestyle. I’m generally pretty fit and active and eat well. The key is to just take it every day. You probably don’t need to take Tru Niagen immune every day but for days when you’re not sick just take regular Tru Niagen.

Could be Great...
Like alot of things in our lives , all is not immediate , so we will see if the proof is in the pudding. One point for sure is that tru niacin is somewhat pricey and going up. I find this behaviour unethical , so I'm tapping out this comment. Oh , lest I forget. I do like to get what I've paid for , got some empty half capsules. The packaging is all very pretty and reflects the price , so if something is so good for us , but the machine is unethicaly greedy , what to do as we hope good things from this supplement , and the market is cornered. As I see it , Kenneth L Sprague

Contains Titanium Dioxide
This product contains Titanium Dioxide which is banned in Europe for its genotoxicity, intestinal inflammation, and other adverse health effects. Why would you add a cosmetic toxic ingredient to a health supplement? Besides raising concerns about the safety of this specific product, it calls into question the validity of the entire Tru Niagen enterprise. It proves that they either don't actually care about health, or are completely incompetent. UPDATE I'm upgrading this review from 1 star to 3 stars for the following reasons: 1. Tru Niagen quickly responded to this review and issued a full refund 2. They provided the rationale from their scientific affairs team about why they believe Titanium Dioxide is safe based on the FDA's assessment. I now feel that they do care about health and are not "completely incompetent". However, I still believe it's the wrong choice to use this additive, for these reasons: 1. Color additives provide no value to me - only risks. The studies cited by the FDA do not conclusively rule out those risks. 2. A health supplement - in my view - should be free of unnecessary additives. I'm not taking the supplement for my entertainment, I'm taking it specifically to support my health. If the thought going through my mind every time I swallow this pill is "I hope the FDA is right", then I'm just not going to take the pill.
