HOW WAS THAT for a slew of "alluring" words! Didn't want you to get bored reading that long list of vintage materials. ON THE BARKCLOTH, the "Victorian Ladies" are off to deliver a hot Christmas meal to the neighbors -- always the generous givers. The Barkcloth "Ladies" were originally part of a vintage table cloth found at a small antique shop. The handmade ivory doily obviously depicts a snowflake in this Christmas winter fabric creation. The red striped tea towel in upper left corner is a flat weave. Tea towels are said to have originated in 18th century England, where the lady of the house would use them to dry fine china and delicate tea sets.
