To Restore or Not to Restore that is the real question?
This 2007 Honda Pilot, LX model had a problem which needed a permanent solution. The headlight beam wasnโt too visible due to heavy-oxidation and couldn't see the road anymore at night. The solution was that it was time for an HID kit. After deciding that I wanted HIDโs I ran into the real problem. The headache of researching it all. I spent hours looking for something like Iโm about to write specifically for Honda Pilotsโ and the goal of this multi-product review is get the most bang for my buck. Ideally, if this review can help you make a decision rather quickly, and to demonstrate and show you what happens when you combine all three to achieve freaking fantastic results- then Iโve done my job. After hours and hours of researching I realized what the best possibilities were for my situation: 1. Purchasing new headlights 2. Restoring the headlights 3. Purchasing new headlights with expensive projectors on them with an HID kit 4. Installing LED lights Once, I decided It was clear to me that I needed to do, and it was to Create my own kit. I got lucky since the vehicle had stock projectors and immediately gave me a jump-start which made things easy for me- so it should be easy for you. Hereโs the checklist of what was needed. My budget was $100 to see this through. 5. Restore the headlights (needed a kit) 6. Install the new Ballast (needed a kit) 7. Change out the old bulbs to new bulbs (needed new pair) Headlight Restoration I used the Mother NuLens kit- and am glad that I used this kit. Excellent product, and for the price, and review it had it was the best choice that I could decide on, and a few other competitors offered similar results, but the reviews left consumers knowing that there was a better product to what they used, so I kept searching. I think I found it honestly. I used an old-hand drill and the attachment that the product comes with and was able to get really good results. Follow the instructions, and if you restore your lights- do this while the car is cool, and in shade if possible. Total paid $9.35, and the lights look brand new. I already did another pair of truck lights, and they look good. Itโs a 1999 Ford F150 thatโs seen a lot of construction sites, and a ton of oxidation. This product did a fantastic job restoring those as well. Cleaning takes ~15 mins per light if you want to do it right- if you follow the instructions as I did. Selecting Non-Flickering Ballast Next, it was time to select new Ballast. Luckily, my truck was equipped with stock projectors, so check if you have projectors. After reviewing what it seems almost 30-40 products, I ran across the HYB Canbus premium 55W ballast. Based on product reviews, and other YouTube tutorials and before and afterโs HID kits I saw-poorly mislabeled all over YouTube; The Canbus ballast were the best choice. Other products seem to flicker after a lot of usage, and I didnโt want to change something in a year or two. The reviews were pretty amazing. The other alternative was to use LED bulbโs which donโt use ballast- but those had negative reviews too and customers werenโt too thrilled. The other alternative was to purchase a complete kit- but there I couldnโt pick out or choose what I wanted, and everything looked cheaply made and reviews were also troubling. So I created this kit instead. I wanted maximum bright white lights, excellent satisfaction, a moderate budget, and something that I could do on my own. I paid a total of $39.99 for the premium ballast. If you see my vid- I included zip ties to the installation- I figured with the vibration of daily usage- based on the place where I could easily get to the ballast, I didnโt want to strain the adhesives, so I backed the adhesives up with a few zip ties to take the weight of the harness/connections. They donโt need to be there, I added those for protection. The Ballast work great- no flicker, and the light output seems to be brighter and brighter. Installation took 5-7 minutes per side, another 3 minutes for zip tying both sides. Choosing new Bulbs The Honda Pilot has regular halogen lights- they worked but due to the oxidation there was a lot of haze and it was filtrating a lot of my light output and the lights were illuminating the street poorly. I chose the Xtreme Vision HID Xenon bulbs. 5000K- which is a pure bright- white color. I didnโt want the blue as they loose Kelvin, so I selected these because it was one of the few companies that offered a 5000K pair of bright-white lights. The other bulb providers had worse to terrible reviews so I selected this company for my lights. The price was decent and thereโs a ton of regarding the company products, performance and their overall usage life. Took around 5 minutes per side. Smaller hands have an advantage in changing out the old lights. Final Product Total spent $64.33, the light output seems to be stronger and stronger with more nighttime use. I know that the Kelvin output dropped by selecting the 5000K HID bulbs and Iโm not receiving a full 5000K- because Iโm running 55W ballast- but Iโm okay with that because eventually I will receive a product that I expect, not blueish- but bright white. The light output is great now, the light throw is great, and itโs getting brighter with each night time use. Since I installed, I added around ~5 hours of night time driving and the light out put is at least 15% brighter. Who knows how long it will take for maximum results, but I canโt wait. The final product is short of amazing considering what I originally had and considering that I spent $68 bucks, well then what a great final product? Now, - Iโm finding excuses just to drive the car out at night. The combination of all three products worked extremely well for my use. For those heavy DIY guyโs and galโs, anyone of you can do this, male or female- itโs truly plug and play. If youโre a woman, youโll probably complete this project faster because getting to headlights can require a smaller hand and there alone you have an advantage over a male. For HONDA PILOT owners, you can access the headlights without taking out the bumpers for this year/generation. Overall, the final product Iโd give it 10/10 stars. Hereโs the best part- I was actually $32.67 under budget- Heck Yeah!!! as Napoleon Dynamite would say; and the budget part was a little extra for you finance/accounting nerds- you know who you are. Vastly improved headlight quality
This is the second headlight restoration kit I have purchased. I have previously used the 3M kit that contains a clear coat wipe. I wasn't super fond of that kit, as you have to apply the clear coat perfectly with the wipe or end up with streaks. I also am skeptical of the longevity of the clear coat. I chose this kit because it comes with polish instead- it removes the scratches instead of covering them up. I used the kit on the headlights and mirror turn signal lenses on my 18-year-old Volvo with 200k miles. The visibility is vastly improved. If I were to use the kit again, I would probably start with 400 grit wet sanding, due to the excessive pitting on the lenses. That would be a bit extreme, and you may not need to do that. I would recommend keeping the sanding pads constantly wet, that will increase the life and performance of the pads. I used a bucket of water underneath my seat to frequently wet the disk, and washed off the slurry after every pass. I'm not sure why they want you to dry sand with the 3k grit pad, I tried it dry and had poor performance. I ended up wet sanding with that too and it worked very well. Overall the kit was easy to use, delivered on its promise, and increased the safety of my car. Even if I have to re-apply the polish yearly to the lenses, I'll continue to be satisfied with the results.

Fantastic, except in the tight corners
This is a very nice set that includes pretty solid-feeling drill tools and a restoring paste that seems very good. You get enough sanding discs to probably do four lights and enough of the paste to do touch up buffing with the round sponge for years. The drill tools makes this whole process very easy compared to hand-sanding everything. It worked really well to clear up my VERY hazy, yellow headlights; they don't look "brand new" but they ARE completely clear and you'd have to look close to see most of the flaws. It only loses a star because the circular pads mean it's tough / impossible to thoroughly reach the corners. Functionally, it doesn't matter but if you look you can definitely tell the corners of the lights are still a bit cloudy. Including a couple square sanding sponges or smaller discs would help make this a complete restoration kit.

Works Great!
Works amazing. This part would have been $300 to replace for my 2020 IS300 F-sport model with radar, I bought this kit and sanded it down a couple of times and got it to look much better. Saved me a lot of $$$.

A critical review from someone who has used this and other kits.
Whatโs included: (1) Drill Attachment for attachments below. (2) 800 grit sandpaper disk (2) 1500 grit sanding disks (1) 3000 grit โbuffing padโ (1) powerball pad for buffing compound. (1) 8oz bottle of polish. Pros: All the hard labor is meant to be done by the drill with this kit. There is no hand sanding or hand buffing. The drill attachment, buffing pad, and powerball are all well made. Cons: Sandpaper attachments seem to be โsingle use onlyโ. Trying to keep them wet and unclogged is a bit of a mission in itself. I can see why people have so many bad reviews on this kit. They let the sandpaper clog up and it starts to leave yellow streaks all across the headlight lens. This wasnโt a problem with other kits. I basically needed a second set of hands to keep the lens wet while I sanded with the drill attachment. It was harder to sand the edges of the headlight with power tools. Another issue, is that it doesnโt come with headlight sealant. Instead it comes with a card recommending Nu-Lens headlight film. Without some sort of sealant, the headlights will be yellow within a year. Other kits come with a sealant. Overall a decent kit if you take your time, keep everything wet, and accept the pads are single use only. Iโve used other โbetterโ kits that arenโt single use. They also came with a headlight sealant. Only downside to that one is all the sanding is by hand. Buffing is done with a drill.

Easy to Use and Great Results
The quality of this kit is very good, and itโs easy to use. It doesnโt stick or leave residue, and the process is simple. For the price, itโs a great product, and it leaves your headlights looking like new. Very satisfied with the results.

This is the first headlight renewal kit I didn't *loathe*
So... 2 years ago I bought this ten year old Jeep. Headlights were a little yellowed and they had some sort of coating on them, like maybe just clear lacquer - but it had ugly edges. Whatever the previous owner had done. I went to the auto parts store and asked the clerk what the best headlight renewal kit was, reached for an orange box ( I don't even remember the brand anymore, doesn't matter) and I paid about 22 bucks and went home. 3 hours later, sore fingers and wrists, sweaty and frustrated my headlights still pretty much looked like crap... I did the best I could with that kit but gave up. About 3 months ago I was in another auto parts store and saw a Mothers brand kit (not this one) and asked the clerk what he thought of it, he said it's great - ok, I told him about my previous experience and I asked him implicitly, "Am I going to buy this, get home and use it, and be pissed off at it and at you for endorsing it?" - he said no it works very easily and it's the kit to buy. I dropped another 20 bucks on that kit. I spent another hour on that one - it wasn't any better than the previous one. The little squares of sandpaper were annoying to hold and move back and forth, the most coarse one wasn't aggressive enough to actually cut away the flaws in my lens and the finer ones didn't do anything to cut down the scratches from the coarsest one - so again my lenses ended up looking crappy. I was shopping for replacement headlight assemblies when I saw this kit and figured I'd give it a try - at least with the fully powered sanding process I wouldn't get more sore fingers this time. I have to say, this kit REALLY WORKS. The coarse pad was plenty coarse to get my lenses down to an even surface and the speed at which it works made it easy to keep the assembly wet (this is important, to keep the sandpaper from melting the plastic instead of cutting it away) and the next two stages (800, 1500, 3000, liquid polish) were appropriate to bring the coarse cuts down efficiently to the "new" crystal clear surface. So in summary, not only did this kit work, it was also the first kit that actually effing worked and didn't infuriate me.

It's good but you might need extras
Individual pieces work great but I'm not really happy with the kit my headlights were heavily oxidized the 800 grit just smeared yellow plastic everywhere I had to grab my own 240 grit to clean up and get threw the oxidized plastic mess then used 400 grit to smooth out a bit for the 800 pads the 2 pads of 800 and 1500 grit don't get the job done for heavily oxidized plastic and the single 3000 grit pad was basically pointless the polishing compound came threw and cleared it up nice enough not bad for a starter kit or lightly oxidized headlights but ide suggest getting more course grits for anythimg more than lightly oxidized and possibly going out to 4000 grit before polishing if you do get more course pads be extra careful to not gouge the plastic the foam on the drill attachment really doesn't have enough flex to run more course grits the sponge polisher worked well but I feel cotton would make less mess but I was also running higher than recommend rpm three hours for one headlight had worn threw my patients

Excellent results.
I have tried several lens refurb kits in the past, all with little success. I tried this today and I can say the lights are like new. It was easy to follow the instructions and took about 30 mins per light.

Great product
Worked excellent. Our headlights were very cloudy and this really made a difference. Highly recommend. Worked much better than another kit I purchased.
