One of the Few Books That Every Christian Needs to Read...
Jesus said the first step to salvation is that you understand that you are nothing, you have nothing and you can offer nothing on your own behalf to save yourself (blessed are the poor in spirit). When you understand that you are wretched, poor, blind and naked, spiritually speaking of course, THEN the Kingdom of Heaven is yours. Nancy Leigh DeMoss spells this out for you in this short but very instructive and applicable book. And the real kjcker is that the book has an excellent study section in the back with GOOD questions and GREAT application instructions. Whenever I lead a discipleship group this is the first book I use because I need to make sure that everyone that I'm going to disciple is really saved. I'm amazed at how many people believe that just because they prayed a prayer, raised a hand, walked an aisle or were baptized believe that action actually saved them. Nancy points out the fallacy behind such beliefs and points out the teaching of Jesus that says brokenness, a broken and contrite spirit, is the first step in salvation. If you have taken any of those actions but did not understand that your salvation depends entirely upon you come to the cross empty handed, realizing your brokenness and helplessness, then you may still be in your sins. You need to reads the excellent book by J.D. Grear, Stop Asking Jesus Into Your Heart: How to Know for Sure You Are Saved.I recommend this excellent book wholeheartedly and recommend that EVERY Christian read it for the application section of the of the study.

Excellent study on humility
I have very much enjoyed this book and Nancy Leigh DeMoss's writings. Currently I am using the book for a small women's group and everyone is enjoying it so much. It really helps us draw near to the Lord and allow Him to examine the true condition of our heart, often filled with pride. And it is encouraging to learn more of the humility of our Savior and ridding our hearts of self to be filled up with Christ and live the life He intends.

It gave a more meaningful look at how to view ...
It gave a more meaningful look at how to view sin and repentance in the Christian life. The book explains how the sin of pride adversely affects our walk with God, and blocks any growth or blessings for the believers of Christ. In fact, as I read the book my mind kept going back to the verse in the book of Jeremiah; "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked, Who can know it"? The book is for all those who feel something is missing in their life as a Christian. It will open your eyes to those sins you once thought buried. Sometimes confessing your sin to God is not enough; and you have to seek out those you have wronged and ask for forgiveness. In this book Nancy Leigh DeMoss explains what a true and contrite heart is all about. The many anecdotes included in the book show how the process of brokenness can heal our relationship with God, andbring revival to our Churches and communities. This book is not for the faint of heart, but it is worth it!

An absolute must read
All I can say is that God moves in a very special way in this book, unlike any other human-authored book I have ever read in my nearly thirty years as a Christian (I'm 37 now). I could write pages of what God did in my life through this book, but the work God does through this is His miracle, and perhaps I should just say that you would be enriched, changed and renewed by taking the time to read it (or as some may say, have it read you~ it's that sort of book). As it was for me, it may just be the "key" you're looking for in your quest to follow Christ, and help you work past issues of the heart you've struggled with for many years. Just know, you will never be the same...

Revive Our Hearts
Brokenness: The Heart God Revives is a wonderful study. We are using it in our small group Sunday School class, and as we prepared our hearts for revival, it was and is, a perfect study. If you are serious about Spiritual depth, and learning about pride that you may be unaware of, this is so good.

A very insightful book
This book will help you evaluate yourself in regards to pride, selfishness, and humility. Truly, brokenness is what every Christian needs who desires to be greatly used of God. As long as we are selfish and proud, we will not be of much use to God, because God resists the proud, but gives grace to the lowly. This book will help you to "examine yourself," (2 Cor. 13:5). I highly recommend this book, along with books by Andrew Murray on similar subjects.

Muy bueno
El libro está en inglés, obviamente. Por lo demás, muy recomendable para cualquiera que al que Dios esté llamando al quebrantamiento. Algo de lo que se habla poco en las iglesias, pero que es imprescindible.
