Perfect Grip for Tai Chi Beginners on Slippery Floors
Iโm a beginner at Tai Chi, and I didnโt realize how much footwear mattered until I almost wiped out practicing in socks. Smooth floors plus slow, controlled movements equals zero traction. Not great when balance is the whole point. These shoes solved that immediately. The rubber sole has just the right amount of grip. I feel planted, stable, and confident shifting weight without feeling stuck to the floor. That balance between traction and glide is exactly what Tai Chi needs, and itโs surprisingly hard to find. Theyโre also lightweight and flexible, so my feet can still move naturally. No clunky sole. No stiffness. I can feel the floor without slipping on it. That alone made my practice feel calmer and more controlled. Fit-wise, they were spot on. Comfortable right out of the box, no break-in, no pressure points. I also appreciate how simple they look. No logos screaming at you, just clean, traditional design that feels appropriate for martial arts or Tai Chi practice. For the price, this is a no-brainer. I expected โgood enough.โ What I got was a noticeable improvement in stability and confidence during practice. If youโre new to Tai Chi, Kung Fu, Qigong, or anything that involves slow, deliberate movement on indoor floors, practicing in socks is a mistake. These shoes fix that. I wish Iโd bought them sooner.

Excellent for forms
Purchased these two months ago and wear them every day in the house and for performing kung-fu forms. I have not struck any bags or other surfaces with the shoes, so I don't know how they would stand up. So far no unusual wear or seam problems. Nothing. Don't know how they would fare in sparing. I wear a 10.5 shoe size and purchased the size 11 shoe, and they are a good fit, even a little loose without socks. After looking at many others, and choosing these shoes, I highly recommend them. Update: June 2022 - The shoes are wearing well but have stretched and are now loose fitting. My exact size would have served me better. Don't understand why no 10.5 is available. But they are well made.

Good lightweight shoes, sizing runs large
Wanted some cheap, light weight shoes so I had something to slip on quick to walk around in the yard or in town. They're good for what they are. Make sure to order a half-size down - they stretch/fit to your foot over time as well, so I've considered trying a full size down when I replace my current pair. Comfortable with or without socks, but wearing them barefoot a lot will dirty the interior sole, which I'm not sure how to effectively clean.

Comfy house shoes. Donโt overthink the size though.
I needed a pair of โindoor onlyโ shoes and decided to purchase these. These are very nice, lightweight slip ons. I read the reviews here and was concerned about the size being too small, so I followed the advice that I should measure my foot to centimeters and find a Chinese foot size conversion chart. That told me that I probably needed to get the size 11 instead of the 10 I usually wear. Well, I got them...and they are slightly too big, even with socks on. Not too terribly bad, but they do stretch out a bit, so I should have just gotten the size 10....they would have been perfect. That said, good shoes anyway.

Disappointing fit
I ordered these shoes for kicking a punching bag outdoors in my driveway. They would work well for that purpose, if the fit was a bit better. I ordered size 41, which is my correct size (US women's 9.5 wide, US men's 7.5). I know size 41 is my correct size because I have other pairs of shoes in this size which fit well. I would like these shoes very well, except that the fit is not quite right. Both shoes are printed with size 41, but the left is a little too big, and the right is a little too small. The shoes appear to be the same size, so I think the fit is due to the way the upper is stitched onto the sole, and how much space was left at the edge. I was disappointed because otherwise, these are very nice martial arts shoes. They have that nice "brand new sneaker" smell when they come out of the package. They shipped from China in 9 days (free shipping for Prime members). The price was good ($15). They come bagged up in a cute plastic wrapper with Chinese writing on it. I have already worn these shoes and gotten dirt on them, so I will keep them and use them for something (maybe slippers, or basement shoes, because I have a damp basement and can't wear regular slippers down there to do the laundry). I will try them out on the punching bag, but I think because of the right shoe being a little too tight, they will not be comfortable for a long workout. The other shoes I have in size 41 are all either a good fit, or a little too loose. I can't really explain why this one is a little tight, unless it is the stitching or the size label is wrong. I wanted to give these shoes a good review, but unfortunately I got a pair that was not quite right.

APIKA Chinese Traditional Old Beijing Shoes โ Comfortable and Stylish
I recently purchased these APIKA Old Beijing Shoes and have been pleasantly surprised by their comfort and design. The canvas upper is breathable, making them suitable for extended wear, while the sole provides good traction. They're easy to slip on and off, adding to their convenience. Whether you're practicing martial arts like Kung Fu or Tai Chi, or simply looking for a comfortable everyday shoe, these fit the bill. Plus, they offer a touch of traditional Chinese style that's both unique and fashionable.

Comfortable, washable, and well made for the price
Comfortable and made well for price. They are flat and not well padded but serve well as casual shoes. I wear mine without socks and then toss them in the laundry each week. Although instructions say to hand wash mine have survived in the laundry machine just fine. I wear them all day 2-4 times per week and they have worn well for about 3 months. Expect 5-6 months use from them at this rate. They donโt offer much support but this was never expected. I have healthy feet and am usually barefoot at home so my feet are adjust to shoes that are flat and offer little support. If you need shoes with a lot of support look elsewhere.
