Getting this knife set for $62.00 didn’t lead me to feel any great expectations for what the quality would be but, at the time, it was shown to be almost 50% off. Having received and thoroughly examined the set, I can honestly say that it easily matches up to $100.00+ sets that I’ve owned in the past.Don’t be a goober, like some of the other reviewers I’ve seen here, and be surprised that these knives are delivered to you well-sharpened. They’re knives. They’re supposed to be sharp. If you tear into the box like you’re expecting your Daisy Red Rider BB gun, you’re going to get a nasty surprise and you can write your review after the stitches come out. Yes, they are exceptionally sharp, so use caution when opening them.Be still, my heart! These knives sport actual real wood handles! Because of that, I strongly recommend that you purchase a bottle of mineral oil, if you’re going to be putting them in the dishwasher. Luckily, I already had some on hand because I use it on my guitar fretboards. If you don’t follow this one little step, you’re going to be coming back and changing your review to remark about how poor the quality of the handles is.Great knives for the money you’re going to spend. They’re very nice. They’re very sharp. They’re very much worth what I paid for them.

Let me start off by saying this: you will NOT be disappointed with this set. The quality of this product is outstanding. The knives, especially the Chef’s, are incredibly sharp out of the box and can/will slice through anything.The biggest issue with this set is the packaging. All of the pieces are packed separately, and are wrapped in a thin layer of cellophane, ***which should be considered an extreme safety defect*** Long story short, with the very first knife I took out, I tried to take the cellophane off. Two hours later I was leaving urgent care with six stitches in my finger.However, my very first thought after my finger was sliced was “Wow, this is a really good knife set.” Almost too good. I haven’t even been able to use it yet because of my injury, but I know from experience that these knives will cut through quite literally anything like butter.Like I said, if you’re looking for a high quality set, look no further. This is the one you want. Just PLEASE be careful with unpacking.

Love these knives. A gift for myself for Christmas. I am an avid cook and need something sharp and that will hold up. I feel I have found both. They are SHARP!! They have a nice weight and balance. I have MS and my hands are somewhat weak, but these do not tire my hands. I love the retro wood look. The block is a beautiful rich brown, not red. I would highly recommend these. So far...if a later issue I will do an addendum.

I really like the knives and the handles. Good quality and ergonomic design. The block is simple and stylish. My only complaint is the scissors are not universally useful. They have a secure clip, and they open like garden shears, which is fine, but I have kept the scissors from my old set for multi-purpose and use this pair for herbs only.

This is one of the few knife set brands in this price category that puts its specifications on the blade. Other sellers just list the usual sales pitch description without details. This set compares well with higher priced sets.
