Great value bike for the Specs
The media could not be loaded. I have been doing some research about electric pedal-assisted fat-tire bikes. I had my choice narrowed down to this Mukkpet, Lectric, and Heybike models. I decided to buy this one because the others were $150-$250 more expensive for the same specs. I had to go down to 36V and/or 10AH battery for Lectric and Heybike models for the same price. When you look at the other components (breaks, shift gear etc). They seem almost identical except for the electronic display.I put about 50 miles on the Mukkpet and it did not disappoint so far. The packaging is really good. The box is filled with foam to reduce the risk of damage during transportation. It took me less than 30 minutes to put it together. It already had air in the tires but I topped it off because I like to ride with higher PSI. The brakes were a little bit soft so I tightened them just a little. They have enough bite and stopping power.Pedal-assist works great. I can't tell the difference much between 1 and 5 levels of pedal assist so maybe 3 levels would have been adequate at least for me. It jerks you off just a little bit when it engages but you get used to it after a while but still be careful if you are going downhill just in case. I got up to 20mph with full-electric power (200 pounds rider, flat surface, 70 F weather, 90% battery). Gear shifts are seamless. The seat suspension is not impressive but it does the job and the seat is very comfortable and large. It soaks up the bumps and road imperfections really well with the help of the flat tires.Overall, I am very happy with this bike for the price. Let's hope that it will hold up well in the long term. My only minor issue with the bike is you have to press a button to lift up the seat first in order to turn off the battery. I wish the battery power button was more easily accessible.

Good 'little' bike
I bought this bike to commute/run errands mostly. I had considered buying a gas engine for my mountain bike, but wanted the quiet, cleanliness, and lack of (often incredibly excessive) maintenance that those engine kits are known for. I'd ride it recreationally if I had any of that mythical stuff commonly referred to as "free time". My commute is about 9 miles and the longest trip I've done without charging is roughly 15 miles. I weigh about 190lbs and regularly carry cargo on the included rack and an aftermarket handlebar basket. Now, for the actual review...As mentioned, I'm not using this in the same way many people seem to. When I'm using it, it's normally an A to B trip. I mostly use pure throttle at maximum speed. Understandably, this puts a significant damper on battery life. I can probably eek out about 20 miles on a full charge. No problem there as that fits my needs. The thing is not a lot of fun to heft around. Other reviewers have it weighing 80-90 lbs, and my lower back agrees. For that weight, however, you get a solid-feeling machine.Speaking of feel, while not exactly a luxury experience, it rides pretty smoothly. The seatpost suspension takes a significant edge off of what otherwise could be some rugged bumps on my routes.I've gotten the speedometer to read 23+ mph while my maps app has clocked me at up to 25 mph on my rides. Even at those speeds, it feels stable and the disc brakes have adequate power to feel safe as long as good judgement is also used.I have had to adjust the brakes once or twice, but it's pretty easy to do with an Allen wrench.I seem to have a magnet in the rear rim, as I've caught a screw and a nail on two memorably unpleasant experiences. Changing the rear tube is daunting on the first try, working through standard bike AND electrical components, but the most recent change went quickly and smoothly. One gripe I do have here is that it's hard to comfortably align this bike upside down to remove a wheel. All said and done, I really like this bike (a little extra appreciation for the cruise control in pure throttle mode) and have put over 500 miles on it. It's a good little rig and would make a good starting ebike for anyone interested in trying ebikes without taking out a second mortgage.

Great buying experience !
Received my Mukkpet GL-500 Step Thru EBike yesterday. The 1st. thing I noticed was how well this ebike was packed. They Spray foamed the inside of the box, but on the exterior of the interior of the box to keep the ebike from being damaged from the outside!(the ebike was completely enclosed in a plastic bag to keep if away from the foam.) Excellent idea and my ebike was in perfect condition !I had bought a similar Ebike about a month ago from Ecotric and it was not packaged nearly as well as this Mukkpet ebike was !I Sold the Ecotric bike, as it was a Step Over model and it was too large for me to step over.(I had a Stroke a couple of years ago and my left leg and my Balance aren't 100% but, this Mukkpet GL-500 Step Thru Bike is Perfect for my situation !I couldn't be happier with my Mukkpet GL-500 purchaseOh yeah, Mukkpet Customer Service has been in contact with me all the way thru this entire process.Great buying experience !
