I was drawn to this Firebird by its aesthetics: I just love the lines and angles, and the scale color is interesting and unusual without being garish – it’s a very attractive knife in the hand. The all-around impressive craftsmanship is a significant bonus for me; there might be a handful of lemons floating around, but mine certainly isn’t one of them – perfect centering, no hot spots, smooth action, comfortable grip, lock properly positioned, no blade wobble, excellent fit and finish, legit D2 steel.If I had to quibble it would be about the sharpish scale interiors felt under thumb when using the flipper, but that’s nothing that can’t be fixed by 30 seconds of sanding at home. Everything feels tight and, well, expensive; for the price, an outstanding knife and absolutely worth taking a shot.Of the available Ganzos the only one I'd prefer is the newer 41.

the knife is well made. light enough to be carried all day. heavy enough to be sturdy. the ball bearing pivot works smooth and the liner lock doesnt bind it up like other flippers ive owned. being left handed im picky about pocket clips and some knives dont protect the tip of the knife folded. a ruike knife sliced open my hand reaching it left handed. this knife has a flat enough design to fit in the pocket perfectly and the clip has just the right tension.being a blacksmith ive sharpened alot of knives. this knife came shaving sharp. the blade was ground perfectly. clean lines and it holds an edge better than my sog flash 2. it also sharpens and hones alot easier.i believe this is legit d2 tool steel. far superior in my opinion than all the high tech "stainless" knives out there.the only complaint i could have is this knife profile is perfect for cutting, but i would be weary using it as a prying tool that i typically do with thicker knives. however knives are for cutting, not using like a screw driver.ill definitely buy more knives of this brand in the future at this price and if they are the same steel.

This is a good, solid, everyday knife. The handle length of just over 4.5" (~118mm) is perfect for my large hands. The action is incredibly smooth, with zero wobble, and when opened, the knife balance point is perfectly aligned at the finger recess. As far as the blade goes, I am a big fan of D-2 tool steel when it comes to knives that are made for actual work. It will sharpen well and hold an edge that is resistant to wear and tear of daily use. I'm left-handed, and I love the feel of it; the pocket clip is barely noticeable when I hold it. I particularly like the no-nonsense, straight lines of the handle, with just enough contour to feel like I'm holding a knife, rather than a piece of bar stock.The only reason I'm not giving this knife 5 stars is because of the handle scales. When I first opened the knife, I found the machining on the handle scales left some pretty sharp corners, which made the knife fairly uncomfortable to hold, which was almost a deal-breaker for me. I decided to give the knife a chance, rather than return it immediately. I made a few passes along the handle edge with some 800 and 1500 grit sandpaper.. and I can't believe the difference. If the knife had come to me in this condition out of the box I would have given 5 stars.

I use a pocket knife. I live on 100 acres and use my knife daily. I also own two spyderco and one benchmade knives in cpm 30 and spy27. They are great knives and I would like to own more. I wanted to try a d2 blade but didnt want to spend lots of money. Saw the fh11 in d2 for 20 bucks and thought it an opportunity to try d2 in a cheap knife. I am shocked. The knife is amazing. Built like a tank and beautiful. Blade is centered. Flipper is smooth. G10 scales have machining details that are both beautiful and functional. Blade was sharp out of the box and is holding an edge better than my cpm s30 knives. Collectors wont be blown away but knife users will. And for 20 bucks! Wow.

Great fit and feel! Very sharp. A feller on the YouTubes said it was around a 59-61 hrc. Came shaving sharp! Great craftsmanship. I know they’ve said that Ganzo has been known for making clones. Not sure if this is one of them, but dang it’s a nice knife. Flips out smoothly and drops shut smoothly. Easier to pocket carry than the Rat 1 and a bit more ergonomically friendly than the Rat 2. Handles feel a bit sharp, but with carry and use that’ll smooth out. Right hand tip-up carry only though, but don’t let bother you if you’re a lefty. I’m a lefty and find that it actually put the flipper in a good position in my pocket.
