Dem Bones (Bob Barner)

My daughter loves skeletons due to loving Dia De Los Muertos ever since she was months old. She is also leaning body parts in English, and high she doesn't feel comfortable with. Being that I use loved reading tus book years ago as I would read it to ore k children who loved it as well I decided to buy for my 2 yr old . She loves it so much she has me read it 3-5 times In a row. We I Ku read the song lyrics which we read. I first read it In Spanish (translated by me) and then read or sing in English. A child can grow with this book as there are side readings with more details and even a bone chart at the end of the book. I could see a child still reading it up till 5th or 6th grade (about 12 years old).

My two year old twin girls love this book! We just read the song part together, not the extra facts at this point. A great into to some basic anatomy.

This book has become a favorite in our home.My 5 y.o. daughter is fascinated with the human skeleton and we watched this animated story on a Scholastic DVD, to entertain her curiosity... when I saw it was based on a book I hunted it down and bought it.I gave it to my little girl for her birthday and she hugged me so tight! It's a favorite in our home and I think it will remain so forever. It's not just for Halloween, it's for any day. The author teaches the reader the purpose of our bones, how they're connected (the major bones) and if you read it aloud in the Dry Bones song tune, it's perfect.We own a hardcover copy.

What a fun book! My 5 year old son loves this. I buy him a new book relating to a holiday every year for each holidary- this was his Halloween book this year. It is great quality and fun to read. My dad, his grandpa, does the best job reading it- it is so fun to use different voices for it. We also have the Scholastic dvd to go along with it, which is great and really complimentary- it gives it a New Orleans' bluesy feel. The book also teaches parts of the skeleton and functions well! It is a great book, and I highly recommend this!

Perfect book for my sons character book parade. Found a skeleton hoodie/jog pant outfit on amazon and it was a match!

We got this book from the library & read it over & over!! They loved the song and the skeleton pictures! I loved that it included the real names of bones in the back which my kids were actually excited about too! Since my kids loved it, I used it in some classes that I teach with skeleton bone clackers.....it was a HIT there too! I heard some parents bought it as well. Skeletons were not scary, but part of our bodies. (a student had a broken arm and we tied that into conversation too!)

Good book, clean despite a few folds and big crease on the cover. It's a lovely book.
