M1-LT M1-LT Mailbox

We saw this mailbox in our neighborhood. It was more sturdy 1/8 inch steel (38 lbs.) and not quite as large as some other locked mailboxes. If you have the company put the house number on the box it’s non refundable, but they did a really nice job. The lock is low profile and would be extremely difficult to pry open. The reason why the box received only 4 stars is because the hardware to mount box is not included. We knew that, but for the price we paid, it should be. The other reason for the 4 star rating is Amazon had a $30 discount when I went to purchase. However, I received an email from the company saying they can’t comply with the shipping date and to cancel the order. Then they would send a link to reorder it. Of course, when I did that, no more $30 discount. I questioned the company and also Amazon, but neither could give me that discount. Amazon rep said you could cancel order again and try to reorder where it shows the $30 discount. We thought it’s becoming a hassle so dropped it. It almost seemed like a bait and switch. Alas, happy with the mailbox. The name of the company I purchased box through Amazon was MBBB Trading.

This box is the perfect size for my needs, but it has such a large opening that birds can nest in it. It needs some type of weather flap to keep wind driven rain and dust out of it. I didn't need a large box, just one that could not be tampered with and this one is just that. Now if I can only find a flap!!!

There was a rash of mail theft in our city. We bought a locking box from the local home improvement store and thought it was handled. Our mail box got broken into 3 times over a 2 week period. At this point, I went on a mission. I went through so of these boxes here on amazon. I found a 5 star review titled "Lasted One Week". I asked myself why someone would give a perfect review for something that lasted one week. After reading he hit it with a Cat excavator, I knew this is the box for us. We got the mail box, nearly put out our backs moving it around but when you open the box, you are not disappointed:Pros: - Made with some pretty thick metal - Lock is very high quality - Designed to resist rain/weather - Lock area is reinforced to prevent being forced open - Came with a few chocolate gold coins (Haha)Cons: - Weight (for my use, this wasn't a con) - Instructions (we are creative and handled it ourselves) - Door isn't quite water resistant (Wet mail at times but we have a fix)The instructions called for 100 pounds of concrete. We took a chunk of metal from a weight bench because it was hooked at both ends. We wanted to make sure it couldn't just be pulled out in any way. My house mate then welded some bits to the top to conned the mailbox. We mixed the concrete and used a level to set the post perfectly straight. DO NOT DO THIS. We learned that during some rain, water has built up in the end of the mail box. I really so think leaning it ever so slightly forward would allow the water to drain out. To fix this, we'll try to raise the back and if we can't do that, we'll add some form of rack to keep the mail off the bottom of the mail box.Complications aside, this is a great mail box. We moved it from the street, next to a light that's motion sensor activated. If someone really wants to steal our junk mail, they are going to have to really work for it. As long as you lean it as little as 2-5 degrees forward, any issues with rain water should be solved. That's the only real issue we ran into. If you're having issues keeping your mail safe, this box should have you covered!

I don't write a whole lot of reviews, but this was my best Amazon experience ever, and I use Amazon a lot! Great price, lightning fast shipping, responsive and courteous seller!I have a house across from the beach with a public road and boardwalk between us and the water. A lot of pedestrian and car traffic. Everyone's mailboxes are on the road and recently they all got broken into. Not the first time this has happened. Last time I bought a $50 security locking mailbox from the hardware store for deterrence. That didn't work because this time they just pried the lock and door straight off and took my mail (including an Amazon package)! Same with the neighbors. I decided to play hardball and go for the beefiest mailbox I could find without breaking the bank and decided on the Fort Knox M1-LT.The mailbox was more than $20 cheaper with this seller on Amazon than anywhere else I could find (even factoring in the shipping). I was skeptical because the price was so good, but took the chance anyway and made the purchase. I contacted UbeatableSale via Amazon asking if they could send my street numbers too and they said yes. The mailbox arrived in 3 days, more than a week before the earliest estimated delivery date and with my street numbers already professionally installed on it! This thing is the genuine article, 35 lbs of solid welded steel and safe-style lock. Indestructible.Some neighbors and I have a bank of mailboxes that sit on two 2x4s bolted onto the outside of a 4x4 post at each end of the span. I just mounted the box with some lag bolts and washers I already had and it fit perfectly. I couldn't be happier with this product or seller!

I contacted Fort Knox Mail box directly. I told the customer service rep, My neighbor has the senator model and I do not want one that big. I told him I only get the standard envelope mail everyone gets. He told me get the vacationer. I then ordered it based on the reps recommendation. When it came it was the same size as the Senator model. I called and explained the situation. They are making me pay $98.00 to return it. I told them I am buying a another one and then said we do not care. Our reps would never make a mistake like that. I would place a do not buy form Fort Knox recommendation based only on their horrible customer service.

Secure mailbox thieves can't reach in to.Finish on top had many imperfections for a product with high claims and price.Is Amazon getting the Fort Knox seconds ?
