I had first reviewed and I was upset because I got the hive but no frames , I put the hive together and then I didn’t receive the frames , I tried to get just the frames sent and it was a fiasco so I was ready to just take the loss for $282 , fortothe seller refunded my order and they sent the hive kit with the frames this time to my delight , everything is together and in working order , everything was easy to me because I am a carpenter and I have the necessary tools and fasteners which they do a pretty good job at getting all the fasteners you need , but you will need a few one inch screws , it’s a very good quality cedar hive and my only complaint is the wax coating , I’m used to Hoover hives which very thickly covers everything in wax , I recommend taking a junk pot and heating up a two pound package of bees wax from here on Amazon and after you heat your bees wax take a heat gun or hair dryer on hot setting and heating the surface of your hive and take a horse hair or cheap chip brush and just start painting the hot wax on everything coating everything from the top down , fill the heads of screws and cracks and every millimeter of the outside and anything that will get exposure to the elements and your hive should last a long time , for the investment this is a good hive kit , the sellers went above and beyond to make sure I got a useable well functioning hive kit , you will just need to buy 5 deep frames and get a 5 frame nuc of bees with Queen and this kit has everything you need to start and maintain your first hive colony, im very happy with this product, the shipping was very fast too !!

I spent an hour trying to get the pieces to fit together. Finally using a hammer to try to get them all to fit together and then they did but all split apart. I was extremely disappointed. I had a hive of 12000 bees from TSC waiting but im sure they are all dead now as I wait for a cheaper hive to ship from Amazon.

Shipping and received fast.Assembly was frustrating a little.After getting the pieces together for each area, upon assembling the brood box I realize that you don't get frames. The pieces were extremely hard to connect prior to screwing. So tight the wood split and shaved...The super box did the same on one end and on a side with the window.All other areas were alright while assembling.The roof of the unit after completing makes me wonder about why the large holes? This would allow for mice to crawl into and damage the unit and colony.Do like that the unit was coated but more than likely recoat later.The knobs all assembled well besides (2). The metal insert inside the knob for the screws came out on one and wasn't even in the other.Will be contacting seller Tuesday since it's Memorial weekend.Overall not too happy since these are costly but needed a hive and it will suffice.

Disappointed that i have to spend another 50$ for brood box frames

Missing one box that holds the inside combs of the bee hive. Can't use it without it. Please hurry, bees are here.

Based on the way this item is pictured and described by Amazon I have to say that it is being grossly mis-represented. I received my order today and all that was in the box were the honey super frames along with a fairly well written booklet explaining how to modify a Langstroth 8 or 10 frame super in which to place these “Golden Palace” frames. This booklet specifically mentions that they do NOT include the wooden box!Amazon’s description of this product shows the surrounding wooden honey super, the brood box, the hive base and the hive top as being included as part of this product. I am NOT a very happy customer at this point in time. An explanation would be greatly appreciated,,,,,,

Edit, bees would not touch the honey super frames. Even after I coated them with wax.This is a great kit for the money with a few caveats: It doesnt come with frames for the brood box so you will need to buy those. Also, the brood box does not work with standard bottom boards or entrance reducers but the ones which come with it work fine.Other than that it wasnt too difficult to assemble, just make sure to predrill all the holes to avoid splitting the wood.

Hive arrived but the frames are missing. I’m disappointed.
