I just play around at home so was going for super cheap. It turns out that those were mostly plastic and I ended up sending 2 other cheaper stands back. This is the keeper. It is very customizable and seems sturdy enough for my use. It's foldable to put away and the parts that are plastic are better quality. If you are looking for a budget mic stand for home use - this is the one.

I’ve been really impressed with the CAHAYA Mic Stand Tripod Boom Arm. The first thing that stood out was the size; it has a compact footprint when folded but extends tall enough for just about any recording or performance setup. The length of the boom arm gives plenty of reach without feeling flimsy, and it locks solidly in place. In terms of quality, it feels well-built for the price; the tubing is sturdy metal, the joints don’t wobble, and the tightening knobs actually hold firm instead of slipping after a few uses (which is more than I can say for a lot of budget stands). The hold is excellent. Once you’ve positioned your mic, it stays exactly where you put it. Even with a heavier condenser mic, there’s no sagging or slow droop over time. Finally, the look; clean, professional, and minimal. The matte black finish fits perfectly in both my home studio and my living room setup. It doesn’t scream “budget stand,” and honestly, it feels like something that should cost more. Overall, a great combination of stability, reach, and design.
