Anything less than four stars is a hoax!
I do not trust the lower rated reviews here since I have been attacked here by competition in the past too. Read them with a whole teaspoon of salt!I am using this book to discover and implement the true Moe Norman swing which I was surprised to learn is not a single plane swing at all. The entire original, authentic Moe Norman swing is described and pictured in this book, but you must know something about golf to see it. For instance, one thing in the pictures is that Moe Norman was not on a single plane. Honestly, I missed that myself on the first read through because I was so fascinated by the biography. Now I am studying the book like a bible. I understand that a second book is on the way and it will have more on the swing itself. If you are studying Moe Norman or his swing, and you want to pick up every little tid bit in your journey, then there are gems to be mined in this book. By mining gems I mean spotting them when they appear and remembering them with yellow or orange highlighter markers! Thanks for taking the quality time to remember your youth with Moe Norman, Greg.We all know NG or TG and their programs supposedly based on Moe Norman. After reading Lavern's biography, which screams of authenticity, I wonder how well the others making the claim really knew Moe Norman. This is important because the only way to get the secret swing knowledge from the master was to become his friend for real, so that he could look into your heart and trust you. Moe was shrewd … he was a golfer! IMO the others cannot be the final authority on the Moe Norman swing because their credentials are not there. Lavern's credentials are Moe Norman's friendship and mentoring, and also his friendship with Moe's friends. One of them was trusted enough for Moe to allow him to take explicit photos of his swing while at his peak. Those pictures are in the book.I can't wait for Lavern to do a web site and videos on the drills to perfect this unique swing. He is truly the only one alive today who can pass on this unique knowledge. Greg: live long and prosper!

Finish to the Sky is a good, fast, read about how to do the Moe Norman swing.
Finish to the Sky was a good ebook. At least as good as any other instruction book out there. Greg Lavern goes over all the tenets of the Moe Norman swing. If you've watched the YouTube playing lesson with Moe, Lavern says the same things, only in more detail. Most of the book is about Lavern's time with Moe. Establishing credibility as a Moe Norman swing expert. I have no doubts he is who he says he is. There could be more instruction, and way more pictures from other angles.Other than the lack of pictures, when the instruction, and secrets, are discussed, they are spot on. If you hit your 10,000 balls using this swing method and instruction, I have no doubt you'd hit the ball straighter. Maybe not as straight as Moe, but definitely straighter and better than you do now.

What a great read!!!
What a wonderful surprise Greg Lavern’s book Finish to the Sky was. I’ve been a Moe Norman fan for a number of years. Like most people I watched all the videos available online and visited all the sites promoting his swing and then did my best to imitate him. But somehow it didn’t quite click the way I had hoped it would. But then I found this book and found out that Moe’s swing wasn’t exactly the way it was described on those sites. And I learned that Moe’s swing when he was younger and in his prime differed from the videos I was watching. Now you might ask how I know that the information in Greg’s book was more accurate than what I had previously read or been told. Well it seems Greg spent several years in Canada and down in Florida practicing with and learning from Moe Norman himself. In fact the first part of this book gives us insight into the kind of life Moe lived and how he was driven to achieve purity in his golf swing rather than low scores. We learn that he didn’t hit at the golf ball, but through it. We learn a lot about Moe’s ideas about the way he swung a golf club and why. Greg tells us all of this and more in his own words in a style that is easy reading and entertaining, while at the same time giving us an insiders look at one of the most wonderful golfers of all time. I think anyone who is a Moe Norman fan or a student of the game will be fascinated to learn about the swing he built on his own from scratch. This book is a great read and I can only say Bravo Greg!!! Thanks for taking the time to write it so the rest of us can know Moe Norman and his swing a little better.

Needs to rewrite so the reader can really learn Moe's swing.
I like the parts concerning Moe's life story and insights to his personality. However the instructional part is far to intricate to apply to the learning process for the average golfer trying to understand Moe's swing and how to learn it.It's almost like the over detailing of Moe's swing by Lavern is more to convince the reader that he is Moe's real #1 student rather than writing to help the reader to learn the swing. As a result the wording becomes too verbose and confusing. A real shame because Lavern seems to have the knowledge to really help those wanting to learn Moe's swing.I hope he rewrites the book and uses more pictures and simplifies the information is a manner to help learn the swing, rather than trying to impress the reader.

The joy I hit both wood and iron straight, money can't buy.
This is the second book I buy from the same author. First book was on August, 2011. Which helps me improve my fairway wood and make many dramatic straight shots, 2 shots to green in par 5 few times. But I cannot hit good iron shot. This one I bought it on September, 2014. I keep on reading both books back and forth, try to find out why I cannot hit my iron shot. Two weeks ago, I started understanding the horizontal tug; navel move forward to the ball.... Today, I have a good game, I can hit my iron straight. I read a lot of golf books before, it worth the money if I can learn just only one thing from a book. From this book, I learn 3 secret things. I would say, the joy for hitting straight shot for both iron and wood, money can't buy. My mentor always say my swing is wrong and ugly, but I let my golf club talk on the course today. (I started learning golf since 2008, changed to Moe Norman style since 2011 and my age is 50+).

The Real Moe
This book was fascinating. I can attest personally that Greg Lavern has more knowledge on Moe Norman that anyone in history. I have been a friend and fan of Moe Norman since 1975 and played with him as well as watched him do numerous clinics. I also new Greg as a young man. When I found out he was writing a book I was interested as I new he spent years with Moe playing and studying his swing. Moe was a shy man and did not trust easily. He trusted Greg and as a result gave him information that no one else has heard. Many people have tried to teach the so called "one plane swing" but Moe never once referred to his swing as one plane. Many have tried to copy and market his technique but only Greg knows the real Moe.

Great personal insight into Moe Norman
It gets 5 Stars for the excellent personal insight and interesting detail regarding Moe Norman's swing.Well done Greg, and good luck in the future.Amazon: It is wrong to have different review sites for Kindle/Paperback - This book is getting much better reviews on the Paperback page, and the two should be merged to reflect a more accurate view.

Easy read.
Overall I enjoyed reading the book and hearing the author's stories and relationship with Moe. Would have liked a bit more explanation with some of the swing secrets and maybe some pictures to help describe the actions.

regarded by many as one of the finest ball strikers ever
An interesting and instructive book, Moe Norman was a bit of a maverick in his playing days and upset the PGA,and he withdrew from the US circuit, who knows how successful he could have been. He did not bow to convention and developed his own style and methods, regarded by many as one of the finest ball strikers ever. His method is different and maybe will not suit all, but I recommend that you try it, for many it will most definitely improve your ability to hit straight and long. I wish I had come across him when I was starting out on golf, but even at 76 I have improved my game, regrettably I cannot get the full advantage from his teachings. but I would say give it a go you may well astound yourself.
