It died after one year.
The original speed controller in my Fein Multi Master burned out after about 10 years. I bought this replacement unit. I ran the tool on slow speed for a year, but the first time I turned up the speed to about 75%, the speed controller burned out. I called Fein, but they would not honor a replacement because I hadn't sent the tool in to have them replace the part! Lousy part & lousy service. I just bought a new (higher priced) one - what else could I do? - but I'll be babying it.

Even though the box say's made in China, it's made in China for Fein. This part is exactly the same as the original.
