Sometime I just need good old masking tape for its good grip. Blue tape has its uses but the tackiness of the one inch masking tape can be used where blue tape falls short. It’s easy to use, leaves no residue ( unless you leave it on for months) thinner than blue tape and cheaper to buy. The quality is very good with great adhesion. Overall a good buy for my applications.

Masking tape. Sticky on one side, gently-textured paper on the other side. I hope you know which side is supposed to face up when you use it! LOL. Good for masking off areas you don't want to get paint on, when you're repainting your living room walls. Good for making a SHORT-TERM USE label for a jar or a box. BUT you should peel it off within 2 months or else the chemical glue might cause discoloration and corrosion of whatever you stuck it to. Reasonably okay for affixing bandages to human skin... but only for short periods because it will eventually fall off sometime within the first 36 hours. You can write on it with permanent marker, pencil, pen, paint, etc. NOT sticky enough to "permanently" hold any two items together! Will degrade over time because it's only paper and glue. NOT for outdoor use, or use in wet areas. NOT for electrical use! NOT for use on hot surfaces like vehicle exhaust, chimney, pots and pans, because the heat will cook the paper, rendering it flaky and fragile, basically useless. And a fire hazard, too. NOT for use near open flames, it's made of paper and glue which will burn very easily.

I bought this to label my sourdough starters as the labels have to be changed every time I clean the jars. Works perfectly. The tape is easy to tear, stays in place well and easy to remove. Perfect for the intended task.

Scotch brand masking tape works well. I also get the blue tape style and use both for a variety of purposes. I admit, I don't do as much painting as I used to , so the masking tape becomes mostly an all-purpose tape solution for me.

I received the item after a long wait of more than 1 month. I bought it for my watercolour painting. This masking tapes does not work and the paint seep through.
