No it does not come with a carabiner. If you need a carabiner then the Black Diamond Big Air XP package is what you want.

what type of carabiner is recommended for this device?

A carabiner that locks and is made for belaying/rappelling should work, but we recommend the Black Diamond Rocklock Twistlock or Screwgate carabiner.

Will this work with 7mm?

You should have no problems with a 7mm rope. I’ve used it with 10mm and it worked; it was super difficult to get it in the ATC, but i got it through. It also has a tapering/ribbed brake area that should accommodate that rope so you should be good.
