Unbelievable! This gaget works really well! I was skeptical at first when getting this product, I was thinking that.... it's not going to be very accurate. It's actually very very accurate! You can see in my picture that I compare the voltage with my high dollar multimeter. The reading came out exactly the same! The other features that I've noticed that it's automatically reading the CCA. It seems like it was communicating with the battery and tells you all of the battery specifications. It's also can do 6 volts as well. The unit itself is not big at all! You can put it in your tool box with ease! It is very easy to use and straight forward. So if you want something that can read your battery voltage and find out the specs for your battery, you need to get this unit. Well worth the money spent! I highly recommended for your garage..... it'll come in handy.

I recently received the KINGBOLEN BM550 Car Battery Tester on my car. Very basic battery tester, but will allow testing by CCA or AH capacity ratings so it works on more than just cranking batteries (I am testing non-start rated deep cycles for an electric motor and on-board electronics). It DOES REQUIRE that the battery have SOME juice in it as the unit does not supply its own power. Also, I have not tested it on a weak battery with a bad cell to see if it indicates the error or would just report poor condition. All-in-all, for the low price it is a decent unit if a basic test is all you require. It for sure isnt the one you would use at an auto repair facility, but it did the job I needed to do testing three batteries after sitting idle for more than 18 months. Does NOT come with a case of any kind.

This is a fantastic battery tester. It will definitely save you a trip to the auto store to get your battery tested there. This is a very simple to use. It is powered by your car battery. So there is no on and off button. When you connect the cables to your battery the tester will automatically turn on. Following the instructions you will need to pick your battery type which most likely will be 12 volts if you're in America testing your car battery. Then you need to check your cold cranking amps or CCA. I recommend you make sure you know what your CCA is prior to starting this so you can input it in right away when you are prompt. Mine is a larger battery because I drive a truck so it's 710. When I tested the battery it ran at 516 on the final run. This is lower than the 710 but considering that my battery is from 2018 this is fairly accurate. It may fluctuate if you keep on testing it as your engine is off so the alternator is not charging your battery. So every time you run a test it drains the battery just a little bit more. To get an accurate reading I run about three tests and then get an average. I love the digital display which is great. My old battery tester was analog that just had lights that would light up. This gives you an actual number rating which is fantastic. The cables are quite long so you don't have to be hunched over the battery risking accidental cross wires and possibly shocking yourself by accident. The clamps are pretty sturdy with the spring strong enough to withstand a light tug and won't come off the terminals. I like the fact that if you accidentally connect the negative to the positive and the positive to negative it will not ruin this tester. It will just blink to show you an error. All you have to do is just reverse the cables and put them on the correct terminal. This is definitely a must-have for the do-it-yourself mechanic. If you have old batteries this will give you a very good idea of whether you can save that battery or you need to complete replacement. It's small enough to keep me your car which is great because that's where I'm going to keep this one. And the price points you can't beat it.

I run an automotive repair shop and recently lost my battery/electrical tester so I looked for a quick and easy replacement Until replacing it with a more expensive tester. So when I got the tool, my first thought was, it was not gonna be very accurate, but to my surprise, this tool was extremely easy to use for testing batteries and very accurate!! It also test the starters and alternators for load/ripple. Absolutely amazing deal for the money. Testers that do this many features typically run upwards of $150 and if you want printer with it, obviously it would be that. My only complaint would be that it feels very light and a little bit flimsy so if it fell on floor It would possibly break easily. Lastly, the complaint I have is for the screen. When using outside on a sunny day, there is a lot of glare and it’s very hard to see but if used indoors, it should not be a problem. It would be nice to have some sort of screen or be able to turn up the brightness perhaps. Other than that less than $50 I don’t think there’s anything Anyone could complain about this thing is fantastic and very quick!!! I’m thinking of keeping this in my shop for a bit just to Perform. I’m surprised. I’d rate it 4.5/5

Use it allot to make sure my lawn tractor batteries are ok

The readings on this Kingbolen tester did not match up with the Auto parts store meter and my other personal tester. I just proactively replaced an older car battery and this tester said that the battery needed to be replaced. The old battery still checked good at the Auto parts store when I returned the core, and my other meter said it was good as well. I tested the new battery with this meter and the numbers were lower on all the measurements compared to the store's tester and my Autel meter. It also could not even accurately measure the battery's voltage when compared to a Fluke meter. A new well charged 12v car battery should test very close to 12.6 volt (6 x 2.1v per cell). My new battery checked 12.43 on the Kingbolen vs 12.55 on the Fluke meter. That's more than a tenth of a volt off which is a lot. All of the CCA and battery condition calculations the are based voltage, resistance, temp etc. Garbage in, garbage out. The tester is very easy to use and I did like that the CCA's could be input to the exact amp rating vs other testers that only allow input every 10 or 20 amps. I also liked that it had battery health % and state of charge %, but they did not seem accurate at all. It also measures the internal battery resistance which checked close to what would be expected in a brand new battery. There are a lot of reviews here and videos on YouTube praising this battery tester. Many videos seemed they were free product reviews or connected to affiliate programs. Maybe I got a bad one. If you already have a dead battery, this meter may just confirm it due to the inaccuracy. For me, it did not give accurate enough data when I just wanted to test a good battery and monitor the battery's health over time.

This little battery tester is very handy to have in your garage or shop. Very easy to use and not bulky like other models. Not only have I used it on my vehicles, but also on my golf cart batteries as well. Recommended!
