The package does not state that the ink is archival. It does, however, state that the ink is made with water-based pigments and is waterproof.

What is the difference between the original version and the original new version?

I don't have any specification differences and I'm not aware of "the original version and the original new version." The only differences I'm aware of is the barrel grips and the colors of the inks. The top of the rubber grips are clear and the rubber grip itself is the color of the ink. Hope this helps.

Are these Fine or medium point? I am having a hard time finding vintage colors in medium point.

This set has extra fine points (0.5 mm). Depending on what you would consider a medium point, try putting 0.7mm or 1mm in your search to see if you can find pens with a point you would like better.
