Must have for beginners or experienced.
Whether you are just getting started or have been gardening, this book is inspiring and even helps with picking produce at a store, ripening and storing. I thought I knew a lot, but still picked up many very helpful tips.

The BEST overall vegetable gardening book!
Mel has done it again. I love all of his books but this one is exceptional for growing vegetables. A comprehensive plan about when to plant and harvest and even wonderful photos to show when you should pick and not pick your veggies is included. This will become my go to book for a vegetable gardening and I’ve been gardening for a long time. Absolute must for your library - will not disappoint!

Im happy
Met my expectations. There were some veggies missing that I would have liked included, but this book covers the well known commonly grown veggies.

I like this book
I like this book. It has lots of practical information for gardeners, and it had been years since I'd had a garden. I checked a copy out of the Library, and decided I wanted to add it to my library at home.

The newest version of Mel Bartholomew's Square Foot Gardening
As an owner of a previous version of Square Foot Gardening, 357 pages (1981) by Mel Bartholomew I was excited to read the newest version, Square Foot Gardening: Growing Perfect Vegetables, 160 pages (2017). Although it is the same concept, it is definitely updated for this generation. Not only are the photographs much better, the content is slimmed down. I was disappointed in the lack of true growing instructions because this short version addresses how perfect vegetables look, not really how to make sure you are starting them out perfectly. Seed starting information is readily available at a number of sites and through catalog companies, so I am sure this version of Square Foot Gardening will be useful to the beginner and those wanting to try something new with their garden. Full Disclosure: I was allowed to read a copy of this book for free as a member of NetGalley in exchange for my unbiased review. The opinions I have expressed are my own and I was not influenced to give a positive review.

Did what it said.
This book provided exactly the information it said it would.

Disappointing
Very thin volume with content that can be found in many other gardening books. It was not written by Mel Bartholomew, but seems to be some random publication by the foundation in his name.
