Looks like the original! But...
This was just what I needed. HOWEVER, replacement of the old innards of the key to the new external case is daunting. Extreme care must be taken to get into the old case not to damage the electronics. THEN, removal of the battery leads from the old case is very difficult. It looks like it was not planned to be separated--but can be done. You'll need patience, control and thin sharp tools.

Careful disassembly and reasembly required
This requires you to reuse the circuit board and battery terminal assembly from the old key fob. Removing the assembly without damage is tricky and requires special hobby style tools. Reassembly into the new case requires similar caution. Test fit everything a few times to make sure you're confident with it before using glue for final assembly. Clamps may be needed at the corners to make sure the battery compartment, fob ring and back-up key function properly. Getting the Mazda logo correctly installed also required a bit of fit adjustment. For me, all this was pretty simple so I'm quite pleased. If you're not confident with your skill set, you may wish to consider other alternatives.

You will need superglue
No. It doesn't snap together fully. You will need glue for sure

Cannot use
If you're thinking you're going to just switch out your factory key internals over to this new case, it's not going to happen. The factory keys are glued shut, and even if you get past the glue, the battery posts connecting to the electronic board inside are glued even worse - they are almost melted right through the plastic so there's no way to remove the internals without breaking the battery connectors. Good luck!
