Though they aren’t sweet flavored, most starches quickly break into sugars in our systems and so have a “high glycemic index” (read: big blood sugar spike). Starches combine amylose (typically 20-30%; fast breakdown) and amylopectin (typically 70-80%, medium-speed breakdown). But waxy maize is 90% amylopectin, slowing and spreading out that blood sugar peak. I'd say this is the same thing as Man's high priced "small batch" Leucine. They smell, taste, and mix the same. NOW Leucine is a lot cheaper. I use this in my anabolic pancake mix, spike my post-workout protein, and put some in my greek yogurt. Sure this stuff smells bad and tastes bad, but you can mask it easy. Overall i'm impressed and ordering another bottle to use while I'm at work. I knock one star off because there is no scooper, so I'm using my MAN Sports 2 gram scooper.
