Difficult to Install
im a licensed installer/independent contractor. this is the first time ive ordered from 'Forever Vent' and after installing the kit i figured id leave an unbiased review. Firstly, the components are of a good quality and there is no problems with the product. There was extreme difficulty istalling the products according to the directions. Most manufacturers have moved on to the secure clamp system to attach the stainless steel chimney liner to the termination fittings, where the flue exits the chimney and the attachment to the stove. However these guys are still using the screw together method which is not as good as the new method because the tiny screws that they provide cannot possibly provide superior holding power like the new clamp system. with the new system it would be impossible for the flue to come disconnected from the top during an aggressive cleaning, while the screws would likely come loose from the corrugated stainless material. in this situation i would use more screws and install 6 or 8 screws as opposed to 4. i have a good feeling that forever vent knows this to be true because their warranty suggests using a PLASTIC chimney cleaning brush which is not super common with the chimney sweeps around here. anyway where i had the problem with this install was the type of stainless they used for the flue connectors. This material WOULD NOT drill with the self drilling screws provided. It wouldnt even drill with any of my other self drilling screws that i normally use for the stainless connectors from many other manufacturers such as HomeSaver, Rockford Chimney, or the Chimney Liner Depot, Simpson Duraliner and others. Anyway i could barely drill through the material either breaking several bits of different sizes.this is no disrespect to the Forever Chimney guys but the average HomeOwner would have a very difficult time with this. Id suggest the company must invest in the tooling to add the clamps into the kit or continue to get surpassed by the companies that are evolving. i cant suggest this kit or would i ever buy again. id have to say Rockford Chimney for a supplier. BTW the only reason i bought from a different supplier was the shipping speed was 3 days faster and time was an issue. next time ill just wait.

It was much more complicated than we needed.....we went with a few stove pipes and saved about 450 $
