It's lasted ages, really solid and perfect for the job

If you're splitting kindling witha hand axe/hatchet, you're golden. If you're using any kind of splitting axe, you need to be VERY precise - if you overswing, you're splitting the stump. Generally speaking though, it's an ok little stump. These photos are after a single session splitting about 15 small logs with a light splitting axe. I reckon I'll get a few more sessions out of it before I end up splitting the stump itself.

The trunk was to be used as a chopping block to mount a log splitter on. It was disappointing that parts of the bark had been torn of presumably as it was being cut to length and clamped. The bark makes it easier to handle and lift. The damaged bark has meant more of the bark has started to shed
