Could you use this to build an AR-15, instead of using a benchtop vise set-up?

Absolutely. You can see that it has a center post that goes into the mag port of you AR. This gun vise is rock solid and can be used for many types of guns and situations. Highly recommend.

Is there an ar10 mag well that can be purchased or an adapter that can be installed onto the ar15 magwell holder so one can work on the ar10 inventory

Grab the Wheeler “Delta Series Mag Well Vise Block” for the AR10 and swap it out with the AR15 block that comes on the vise.

Would this vise also work at the range for sighting a rifle in?

You could absolutely use it with a bore laser to sight in both rifle and handgun, I do it all the time but do not actual discharge/shoot while in the vise as it is dangerous and the recoil will move and not help you in sighting in anyway.
