Loved it
I'm hating myself for waiting so long to read this! At first I wasn't sure I'd get in with the writing style but then something just clicked, maybe it was oreos being the slugs of the cupboard or maybe it was the way Dan was written but gosh I was smitten. By no means is any fictional man perfect but gosh I loved him and the way he loved and respected Harper. The things he'd say and do, is quite happily fall at his feet and their banter the way they clicked urgh it made me smile so much. I also loved Harper, by all means there were times when I got frustrated with her but that was because I understood her, I've been in my own anxious spirals - never to the degree of hers but I know how overwhelming they can be to the point that you can't focus on anything else and it was so gut wrenching to see that happen to someone else and see it verbalized on the page. Needless to say this book captivated me and while other people might have a different opinion I really liked it

Thoroughly enjoyable!
First time reading the author and I really enjoyed it! Buddy read with the wonderful Tori and it was lovely having you to talk to about the book.Thoroughly enjoyed this, super easy to read and I could have easily devoured this in one go! The friendship group was so nice in it, for both main characters, and I would definitely love to read more from them in the future.Harper I felt like was such a relatable character, I could fully understand why she acted the way she did and some of her issues. I thought these were all shown very well and respectful. Dan was just a doll, he had his own issues and upsets in life but he was just had amazing personality. His positivity was contagious 😍Sometimes in the book I did want to bang their heads together to knock some sense into them 🤣 but that's just part of the charm. Also I did get a little lost with all the dentistry terminology but it didn't detract from the story for me.

American rom com
It was cute in general but a bit annoying in places. Sometimes a bit OTT on the dental studies stuff. Maybe something dentists will enjoy.

A refreshing and relatable rom com
Perhaps I liked this book because I relate to it on so many levels. I loved how realistic Harper was portrayed as a dental student unlike some books which portrayed grad/uni students as horny star struck lovers who don’t get anything done at all. I loved to see Harper’s passion for dentistry described in great detail. In this book, I think Harper’s worries about how hard she worked so far and not wanting any distractions and her anxiety were all valid. It was described in a perfect amount of detail and I found the pace was good too.Although the climax of the story would have some of you questioning Harper’s decision, I see where she’s coming from. The ending sounds a tiny bit cliché but I think we can all admit that’s what we’re hoping for.The book held my attention enough that I finished the entire book within a 14 hour flight (and still had hours to spare!!!)

A Brush with Love
A Brush With Love by Mazey EddingsI received an advance review copy for free thanks to NetGalley and Headline and I am leaving this review voluntarilyHarper is anxiously awaiting placement into a top oral surgery residency program when she crashes (literally) into Dan. Harper would rather endure a Novocaine-free root canal than face any distractions, even one this adorable.A first-year dental student with a family legacy to contend with, Dan doesn’t have the same passion for pulling teeth that Harper does. Though he finds himself falling for her, he is willing to play by Harper’s rules. So with the greatest of intentions and the poorest of follow-throughs, the two set out to be “just friends.” But as they get to know each other better, Harper fears that trading fillings for feelings may make her lose control and can't risk her carefully ordered life coming undone, no matter how drool-worthy Dan is.This is a sweet and adorable, light-hearted read. The way Mazey had depicted Harper's anxiety it was very easy to see why she kept pushing Dan away. I read over 60% of this during my lunch break and I really struggled to break off at that point - I had become too invested in Dan and Harper. A compassionate read that will play with your emotions.Rating 4/5

masterpiece
This book is perfect. It’s perfectly written, perfect characters, perfect plot, perfect conclusion, perfect balance of sweetness, steam and banter, with perfect treatment of delicate topics and difficult situations. This author is now an Insta-buy for me.

Has potential, but not my cup of tea.
I started off loving this book. I loved how funny Thu was, and how Harper met Dan, but as this story progressed, I started to not love it as much.I am really disappointed because I had heard such good things about this book, but it's definitely another case of a book not living up to the hype.Harper's friends seriously don't understand boundaries. Not that I would actually call them her friends, because true friends know everything about you, the good as well as the really bad.I also hated the way that Harper's anxiety seemed to magically disappear when Dan was around. Also, wanting to succeed isn't a bad thing, the way it seems to be in this book. Harper gets ridiculed by just about everyone, just because she wants to be successful, and is constantly studying.

My expectations were too high but it was still very cute
I bought it because I had read and heard great reviews and even some comparing it to some of my favourite romance books of the past couple of years so, stakes were high. The fmc was a little too annoying sometimes. The mmc was sweet and amazing and cute. Its a cute story, fast, light read.

Good to read
First what made me uncomfortable while reading: The cat-and-mouse-play was intensive. On the other hand I really loved the characters. The anxiety topic was huge but I could feel with Harper and Dan.

3,5 stars
I had some troubles getting into this book since it's written in 3rd pov. I had this throughout the whole book and even though I don't like it, I won't judge the book for it in my rating, my rating is solely for the content of the book. That being said, I had some troubles with Harper. I mean, I was glad her anxiety and panic attacks or mental health issues were getting some attention because a lot of people are dealing with them –including myself, but her lashing out to her friends and also to the hero were way too much. Also her being so selfish and not able to see how much she was hurting those people around her –or not caring, not really my kind of style. For the rest she was a really relatable character I think.Dan however, I loved him so much. The way he always had Harper's back, even though he had a hard time himself, yes. That's what's love is all about. Were Harper just has some relatable parts, Dan was really realistically and relatable from beginning to end. His feelings were the way you'd expect them to be in his situation and he was just a great hero.I did like the book, it was good and definitely had hilarious moments, it has a lot of cute and romantic moments as well, but for me it's a bit overshadowed by Harper's behaviour. I won't reread it anytime soon, but I'll definitely read Lizzie's book!3,5/5 stars.

Second half better than first half
I felt like this was two different stories. The first half vs. the second half.In the first half, even though I did like Harper and Dan’s connection, I was kind of bored. I felt no pull or draw to the story. I thought the whole dentist part was too much and I didn’t care. There was no real passion going on. There was just a lot missing. Then the second half happened, it got so much better. A big reason was there was more intimacy between them and not just in a physical way. They developed this great friendship together that was really sweet and adorable. They were just each other’s safe spot. It did get intense with different mental health issues, but it made the story stronger in my opinion. The romance was there. The chemistry was there. They just had so many sweet romantic moments that I really appreciated.

Disapointing
I was very disappointed as this book got so many raving reviews from people I trust. I couldn't pinpoint exactly what bothered me, but the more I read, the more I wondered why I kept reading it. I liked the storyline but couldn't get attached to any characters. I empathized with Dan's and Harper's history, though, and could relate to Dan's family's pressure, but it didn't help to gain pleasure in reading it.
