Very creative technique that I am anxious to try.

I had no idea that the log cabin quilts that the author designed were inspired by photographs. This booklet is full of many pictures of log cabin quilts that were inspired by photos. Included are multiple design approaches on how to develop the various blocks for each design that is influenced by color, composition, and theme. Very inspirational to get started on a simplified log cabin project per the author's design approach. The booklet is well worth the price I paid.

I love working with Log Cabin designs and never follow the formula. Having taken Katie's classes in the past I especially like her approach to design and color, her approach to different art quilting. This book gave me some ideas for my work, ways to approach log cabin designs and other art quilt work using new techniques. Katie's detailed instructions are a great way to learn for all levels of artists.

Katie Masopust Artful Log Cabin Quilts book is very well written. Katie provides step by step directions with clear photos illustrating examples of various layouts. I highly recommend this book to any creative quilter, who enjoys a new twist on designing a quilt from your own inspiring photo. Katie's technique is a great fabric stash buster. In addition, I also have the iQuilt DVD version and is also an excellent companion to the book. Yet, either book or DVD is sufficient to learn the artful method. Katie expresses her enthusiasm and relaxing approach in creating artful log cabins. Just beware, artful log cabins is addicting!😊

Katie Pasquini Masopust continues to inspire quilters. You would think a book on log cabin quilts would be a rehash of everything you already know as a quilter, but NO! Katie gives a wonderful new perspective to log cabin quilts and gets your creative juices flowing. This book is almost as wonderful as having a live class with Katie -- the pictures and diagrams are marvelous and she explains the process very clearly. She shares the creative process and gives lots of examples. This should be a staple in everyone's library!

I belong to Kalamazoo Log Cabin Club and we make lots of Log Cabins traditional which I don't like. This is a fascinating book, 'Artful Log Cabin Quilts'. I have just taken Katie's Color Class which was extremely great. She is one of the best teachers and I can't wait to get started on a quilt from this book and have many photos to choose as I am a gardener as well as photographer, sew my clothes so do have a limited amount of time. anna mae miller, Kalamazoo, MI

What a fun concept and so delightfully written. This isn’t just another quilting book full of pretty pictures. It explains the process and fully engages you to think about convert pictures in the fun abstract quilt.
