NP99sp Battery Replacement Kit for SanDisk Sansa Fuze (Sansa Fuze Plus) with Installation Video, Tools, and Extended Life Battery

I have to give it one star in order to review.The Fuze is NOT the same unit as the Fuze +. This will not work for the Fuze. The battery is the wrong size and the directions are wrong for the Fuze.They are not built the same at all; the battery is not the same, the placement is not exactly the same, there's a button on the Fuze, there isn't on the Fuze +, the ribbon cable is not the same and on and on and on! You do NOT need to remove the ribbon cable to replace the battery on the Fuze and it seems like you cannot get it back together, so, in effect, their directions ruined my Sansa Fuze. Had they the correct battery and directions, I could fully see this working great.Why they labeled this for the Fuze and not the Fuze + is just so wrong. Why not label it accurately? Also, they cannot help you with Fuze questions, because they didn't appear to realize the units are different, nor do they even carry the proper battery for the Fuze. I emailed them and was simply told to send the unit back as they don't have the proper battery, they didn't/couldn't answer my question about the ribbon cable difference or if there was even a way to reconnect, either.If I had a Fuze + I would probably rate it higher. The video that comes with it is good and would be a great help for the Fuze+ user.

Great! I like the instructions and the opener tool. There are some cheaper batteries advertised, but they made it easy.

Sansa Fuze MP-3 player was very difficult to take apart and put back together. In spite of carefully following the instructional DVD, player was damaged beyond repair during the process, could not be properly reassembled, and had to be discarded. The only part of the process that was easy, was soldering the new battery leads in place. The wire color coding, however, was different. Would not attempt to replace a battery in future MP-3 players. Could not find a local electronics business that would attempt the task.

Product as advertised - meets expectationsi rather don't understand why more verbage is required to express my sentiment ... I got what I thought I would get.Shipped faster than expected.

The placement, length, and color of the wires leading from the battery were different both from the original battery and from the battery in the video from New Power 99. It was impossible to tell how the battery should be oriented in the device or which wire should be attached to which spot. My father and I did our best to attach the wires of the new battery, but when we had closed everything up the Sansa Fuze Plus would not turn on. You can see from the photo how different the wires on the two batteries were. (The one on the right in the photo is the new battery.) I ended up putting the old battery back in, and it did work when I had done that. However, the old battery doesn't hold a charge very well anymore and I will probably have to get a new MP3 player.

This manufacturer seems not to understand that the Sansa Fuze and the Sansa Fuze Plus are two very different products. "NewPower99" even has a YouTube video that purports to show how easy it is to replace the battery in a Sansa Fuze, but if you look closely it's a Fuze Plus that he is working on. This battery does not fit in the case for a Sansa Fuze (the original, nicer design with the control wheel on the front).
