Helly-HansenMen's Workwear Svolvaer Sou'wester Hat

Pros: Like an old style fisherman's hat. Good coverage.Cons: Out of date color (not that bright and none reflective). Cinch slider not tight enough on chin strap. Still overall good function (It is Helly Hansen after all)

This is the first Sou'wester i have used and it works well keeping the rain out of my face and off my glasses, next time though, i am going to try to buy it a size or two larger and use a microfiber or wool watch cap under it because if you start sweating, the sweat has nowhere to go.

It’s pretty heavy-duty and waterproof. It provides great coverage for the back of the neck Though it does have a thin fabric liner, it’s probably not too warm in cold conditions. I’ll probably wear an additional beanie/balaclava under it for cold.

Highly recommended rain hat for all outdoors activities. I use it in combination with a HH rain coat and pants and it does the trick. Lightweight and good quality, looks like it'll last for a long time.

Does the job as we have been getting lots of rain this year, sometimes I don't bother with the rain coat as the rain hat sheds enough for a quick run to the paper box

Not a bad hat. Fits well. Very protective from the rain. Only disappointed that is doesn't have the Helly Hansen logo on the back like the picture. Still great to have outdoors in the rain.

I was worried that this was too cheap and too old-fashioned - surely designs have moved on since the days of the sou'wester? Turns out I was wrong - this is a quality version for a great price that keeps you snug and dry in even the foulest conditions. Honestly, the best hat for sailing in bad weather I've ever owned.

A must have hat for rainy weather. Would recommend ordering the next size up as the sizes tend to be on the small scale.

I like the hat, it's comfortable, snug and fit, great quality, but boy do I wish I knew I could get it cheaper on H&H's actual website.
