Seems durable, made from heavy bamboo, and fan fabric is the kind you'd expect from camping gear. AKA thin but durable. It DOES have a little bit of difficulty opening and closing completely, but I could see that with use that could change as over time the material would give more. The center screw holding the fan blades in place seems good but if yours has issues, I'd suggest just going to home depot and replacing it with a new metal dowel no problem. The blades ARE nice and thick and in the future I could see that little bolt holding them all together possibly needing to be replaced but the fan is nice so it would totally be worth it!
