Selecting partitions leads to appearance of the relevant steps "Settings of partition ...". Note that these steps start with partitions which do not have an assigned disk letter (as usually is the case with hidden partitions). You don't get a box. You get an optical disc taped in an official Acronis sleeve with the product 'short-key' on the back. I recommend you login to your acronis.com account, then enter the short key at the acronis url mentioned on the back of the sleeve into your account. From there, download the latest build of Acronis 2017 and don't bother using the included disc.This product does need Internet for activation, and can be installed on 3 different computers at once. Thankfully, Acronis makes it easy to deactivate as well so you can move between computers if you upgrade something or need it on a different computer when all your activations are used up.As for the software itself, it works well. It is the full version of the Acronis backup software that is distributed on many hard drive manufacture websites. With this version you can schedule backups at various intervals, and restore either the whole image or particular files in the same or different locations you desire. Acronis.com also provides a bootable iso that allows you to boot from the iso to restore from a backup when the computer is not able to enter Windows.If you don't need advanced cloud features or other interconnected tools, you really don't need the 'latest and greatest' version. This does what you need it to, so getting this version saves you some money. The problem as it turned out is poor documentation on Acronis part. My wasted time could have been avoided if I know the following information (or was told this information when I contact customer service):1. Purchaser is given a partial serial "number" needed to activate license(s). He must: Create an account with Acronis; Register his partial serial number. A complete serial number will be displayed in his account and emailed to him. This is what he must enter into the activation window.2. My purchased version (True Image 2017) has a bug that prevented the whole serial number to be typed in.I downloaded the patch to fix issue #2 explained above, install the software and activate it without any issue.I had been using it for a few days and I'm happy with its performance. The tool interface is simple, intuitive and I have no problem.
