Some good some terrible
I've been testing and installing This N882 NVR for a few weeks. The good:The unit is well-constructed and cameras are easy to install and get running (takes a few minutes for recognition.)The tech support is mostly OK but sometimes lacks knowledge of their own hardware. The basic NVR software isn't the greatest and requires a rather steep learning curve necessitating frequent tech calls. There is only an on-line manual that cannot be printed since any such printing results in important text being covered over with headers and footers. It cannot be converted to a PDF!The Lorex cloud software for an iPhone and a PC has just as many shortcomings as the basic DVR's.Many terms and procedures in all the Lorex software and apps are either missing or poorly explained - again requiring calls to tech help.I hope that Lorex fixes these software and app issues soon. When I call, they claim that they are currently working on them. So, great hardware but kind of poor software. And only fair tech help available.Tech was unable to figure out how to configure email event notifications through my gmail account.

The worst customer service
Half of my cameras and the NVR have failed within 2 years. The company refuses to help in any way. Won't even offer me a discounted unit more then five dollars off. This company truly does not care about their reputation.

JUNK!! It Cannot stream 4K Footage to a PC or Wireless Devices
I have an older N841 series NVR that has no problem using the same PC, phones, apps, and software. This N864 NVR cannot support even a single 4k stream without sever jittering and jumping, while the N841 has no issue with multiple. I called Lorex Tech support and they just told me that when using a PC or wireless device, you have to use the sub stream. The only way to view your 4K footage is through a display hooked directly to the NVR via HDMI. They refused to even send me a replacement device to try to see if something was wrong with my unit. So now I'm stuck with an NVR that cannot do what it is advertised to do and they were perfectly ok with that. IMO, STAY AWAY FROM LOREX!!!
