The 12lbs-80lbs models max weight capacity is the weight purchased. The 100lbs-140lbs max weight would be 140lbs. Empty pockets can be filled by purchasing weights later on to fill the weight vest if needed. This vest is a great way to add resistance to your workout. This is a great vest to start your cross training, strength training, and anything else you will need a weight vest for. The vest is one size fits most. The weights comes included. It also comes with a one manufactures warranty that covers the vest. Review: 140lbs of AWESOME! - - Forget the Negative Reviews! This is The Real Deal! Dude, get it. It's even More Awesome than you Think it is. Mine came in Three Packages. Two were Heavy, one, Quite Heavy. The Vest itself comes in Separate Parts, pre-Bricked with... However much weight. I don't know. I'm not a Scientist, I just watched too much DBZ. I just Laid the pieces in the Floor, figured out the Strap/Velcro situation (which is solid), and loaded all the Bricks. Each Weight is 3lbs, and Ferrous, if you're into that type of thing. Thickish. Like a Bar of Soap... Made'a Metal. Putting this Nightmare on is... Part of the Training. Wow. I'm *pretty* Strong... But this Thing is always a Pleasant Tussle. I got the Shoulder Pads, but haven't Used 'em. It's not so Bad. For me, Personally, this Vest only simulates x1.65 Gravity. Probably I can't handle the x2 I seek. AT any rate... Your first Go 'Round in this Bad Boy at 100% is Humbling. The Heart is almost immediately, Noticeably, taxed. The Steps faulter a bit. And you certainly Can't stay in it very long. Not like you thought you could. It's not Horrifying all up front... But rather, it Slowly crushes you. I decided to do a Thing I made up because of Milo of Croton. So I started at 65lbs, and hike One Mile everyday... Each day adding 3lbs. The ULTIMATE Goal being... Around 2000 lbs. But for Now... It's a Smarter Way to save some Wear and Tear, going Gradually with the Vest, anyway. Very unlike me. So yeah. Get the Thing. It's your only hope... to Surpass ME!!! BWAAahahahaaa!! Review: Sucks very good - Secure. Bought the 141 pound version so can only vouch for that but it's clearly constructed very solidly. It holds together with velcro straps and I haven't maxed it out yet to see if the velcro is enough, but it's handled 100 pounds very sturdily. I use this for workouts during the quarantine as all gyms were shut down and people snagged all the other workout equipment. I was able to maintain all of my muscle weight with the aid of this vest, some adjustable dumbbells, a pullup bar and some elite fts resistance bands. I bought the shoulder pads but haven't needed them yet as it feels just fine without them (even with keeping it on for 30 minutes). Now that the gyms are potentially opening again, I'm not sure how much use I will get out of it, but rest assured at least once a week I'll be doing the bodyweight with vest a dumbbell conditioning circuit and some extended weighted walks. Pros: It's made of tough stuff and my weight bricks were iron. It looks like some soviet era army training device. Cons: Velcro used to hold it together, not sure how it will hold up at max weight. Pro/cons: It's a rough workout.

Good weight vest. Takes some learning.
Works. I don't like running but didn't think regular walking would be enough exercise so I got this. My only complaint is the neck hole is slightly narrow on the sides so with heavier weights, the strain on the traps causes some pain. Without the optional pads, it was excruciating, with the pads it was tolerable. Over time, I got used to it and it became mild discomfort. I happen to have high-angled traps, so this might affect me more than the average person. Aside from the trap pain, the vest is good quality, hasn't ripped out or failed with heavier loads (I think I'm up to 80-90 lbs) and once you experiment and get the cinching Velcro straps set up the way you want, you can snug them down decently tight. One thing to note is actually getting into the vest with very heavy weights. What I do is hoist it up and place it face (front) down on a high horizontal surface - I use my kitchen counter. Then lift the back side up a little, bend at the waist and "tunnel" into the vest until my head pokes part way through the hole. Then hold the front as I stand up. Good product if you are willing to deal with the little idiosyncrasies.

It is great if you want to add extra difficulty to your workout!
The vest is high quality. I have owned others and they did not hold up over time. This one is made from good material. It fits well. I would recommend it if you want your workouts to have an added element of difficulty. Also, the seller was fantastic! It shipped in multiple packages (for weight) and one of them was lost in transit. They sent a replacement right a way with no hassle at all! Great shopping experience.

train like a boss
well built. The vest weighs 145 lbs with weight. the pockets that hold the weights are very sturdy, albeit a little tight The vest is tough to get on and off when it's full of weight, as you might expect, so plan for that With full weight, the shoulder straps do put a ton of pressure on your trap muscles which could be improved upon,...but that's a minor gripe. If you're hiking around with a weight vest of this magnitude, you should have the mental toughness to get over that Only grip is that the straps which go around the torso to keep the front and back tight against your body needs a redesign. Its tough to get setup, its tough to get in place after you've got the vest on, and there isn't a lot of velcro area left to attach to to make it more sturdy

It was good at first.
It was good until the velcro started failing completely. The shoulders and the middle strap do not stay together which ruins it and made my 400 dollars absolute trash. This should be more like 100 dollars because it literally just breaks down after a few months.

140 lb vest is insane
Ordered "used like new". Of course, the original owner returned it without the weights and Amazon didnt check and passed on the incomplete item to me. After I processed the return, I found that the manufacturer's website is cheaper NEW than the used one I had bought here. Now that I have a complete package, I can say that I am happy with it. It seems quite well made and fits as comfortably as a 140 lb vest possibly could.

There are only 26 pockets for 3 pound weights which is only 78 pounds. I have 15 or so more weights but no more pockets to reach 140 pounds. It only has a half inch strap through two double D rings to hold the front and back sections together. It doesn't look strong enough for prolong use. The 80 pound version is all one peice with 10 8 pound wieghts. It is very durable and won't come apart. I sent these concerns as a question to the reseller with no answer. I got a reply about asking me if I RECIEVED ALL 3 BOXES, i did with no instructions or diagram.
