Anchor 176FU Mixing Glasses, 16oz, Clear (Case of 24)

I was looking for a large glass for an airbnb. Glassware takes a hit there, and I wanted something that would last for a while.

These glasses were in an Anchor Hocking box with cardboard dividers, inside another larger box. Neither were packed properly for shipping. The smaller box bounced inside the larger box and smashed two glasses and spread tiny glass shards in and all around the unbroken glasses.The glasses have small imperfections throughout the sides - little nicks and bubbles. I think the seller purchased them at a factory outlet store and is selling them on Amazon. I have no problem with that - but it should be disclosed in the product description.For $2 glasses, they're fine. If you want top quality glasses, pay double and buy elsewhere.

FABULOUS, large, basic, clear tempered glass. We've owned these for 15+ years. They are just incredible! Very sturdy/resistant to breakage, weathers decades of use & d/w hot temps, has SUCH a modern, clear, clean look, goes with everything, SO easy to wash, & the larger size (16 oz's) means we get the big-gulp iced glass of water we love.I raised my child (from birth, after breast/bottle) to drink clean, fresh, ice water when thirsty. My child is now 18 yrs old, & always prefers plain ice water to drink. No soda, no sugared juices, just water. And, THIS is the glass we love! The lip / ledge is very comfortable to drink from- Not "delicate", but not excessively thick/bulky at all! Just solid, clean, strong glass. Other than clear glass coffee mugs, this is the ONLY drinking glass we own. Great for iced-tea, milk, milkshakes or layered ice-cream desserts too :)They are glass, and will of course break on (rare) occasion. And, we're pretty tough on our dishware- Not wildly reckless, but not obsessively careful by any means! Just avg. family rough & tumble daily usage. In 15 years of intense daily use, I've broken only 4 glasses! I've ordered a 2nd case, for future use (just in case they become discontinued). When I 1st purchased, I had NO idea how sturdy, useful, and beautiful they'd be! If you're on the fence, buy these! They'll provide unparallelled durability, comfortable drinking, & E-Z cleaning!This is a workhorse drinking glass. (And yes, of course it DOES work as a bar mixing glass too!) Heavy bottom/base means it sits solidly on table, doesn't knock over easily. NO ridges, etching, nothing to catch & accumulate gunk... SO easy to wash, by hand with just plain dishsoap & water- And, they come out of the d/w PERFECT, every time! Stackable (only 2-3 at a time, or they'll be prone to topple). All this great function, and BEAUTY too! Tip- Just make SURE you get the TEMPERED glass model.

I wanted to buy Anchor as they are made in the USA. After reviewing available options, this seemed the most cost-effective purchase (needed about 8). They are slightly heavier than other pint glasses that I have in my cabinet. You can tell that they are manufactured for quality and durability, unlike others that I have purchased in big box retailers that were likely made outside of the US.

I ordered 6 cases of these glasses because I have a large family.Shipping was quick, 2 days. Five cases arrived, waiting on the final one. Over 100 glasses with only two broken, not too bad - I consider that acceptable.The glasses are thicker glass, sturdy, bottom heavy for more stability when being used. They feel good in your hands when you're holding them. The glasses are a good size - not huge as in ice tea sized glasses, but these hold enough to whet your whistle with ice included.So far, they have clinked and been knocked over, they didn't break yet. We have had these before and unless dropped from a standing position to a floor, or from a kitchen cabinet onto a tile or granite counter, they don't really break. That's why I've come back to them and ordered so many. Good quality.Glass will eventually break, but these glasses do tend to outlast other (thinner) glasses by a long time.Highly recommend - excellent product for the cost. These are also about $1.00 each which is a really good price on its own merit.

I like these style of glasses and I've bought a lot at places like Target in the past that have logos and characters on them. The logos always came off over time from being in the dishwasher so I finally decided to just get plain glasses (probably has the added benefit of helping me to seem more like an adult to house guests as well).These are absolutely perfect for this style of glass. They have a nice substantial weight to them, are clear and seem well made and I've had them about six months and haven't broken one yet so I'm guessing they are durable as well. Even if I do break one here and there, with the amount they you get for the money it doesn't really matter. I have some back ups still in the box in my basement for when I need to replace one anyway.The value for the money is fantastic and would be worth it at twice the price. I can't believe they can even ship them for this cost.

I've have owned 6 of these glasses for many years now and they have never broke and are still in use. However now that my kids are older and want a larger glass to drink from, I found we were running short and therefore I was pleased to find them available via Amazon Prime. The pricing is fantastic for the value you get. These glasses also stack very well so they take up less space in your cupboard.The glass is listed as holding 16 oz, but keep in mind that is to the very top. You would not be able to carry 16 oz anyplace with spilling. This isn't a problem in my mind as you can pour a 12 oz can of something easily into the glass and even have room for some ice.Recommended without reservation.
