Requires a 9 volt battery (not included). Requires a tiny (precision) philips screwdriver (not included) to install the battery. Includes a quick-pull plug as well as a door/window sensor pinch-type plug so it can be used to secure doors and windows. Fantastic for securing a seldom-opened door or gate or for personal protection. I ordered four and they all work perfectly. Downsides are that the door/window sensor is a pinch-type that has two leads pinched together in the door or window that come apart when the window/door is open. Anyone breaking in can pinch the leads together to shut off the alarm in a few seconds. It will alert you if you are home, but it is pretty easy to turn off. We use them to secure unused doors/windows/gates and one by the bed to manually set off if one of the others goes off and is disabled. At this price I couldn't imagine not using several of them. If you have any fear for your safety by someone, this small device will at least turn heads and make others notice if you are being bothered or attacked. Crimes are usually committed when no one is looking, and with this device, that isn't going to happen. It is a screeching alarm that is LOUD and UNPLEASENT. It is louder that a car horn blaring full blast. It will turn heads, and if an attacker doesn't want to be noticed, then they will hit the road at full speed when they hear this alarm.In this world today, we have to do what we can to protect ourselves from acts of violence and crime, and this item will help with that protection. The only negative I can see is that the "light" isn't real bright. It may be usable as a flashlight, but it throws about as much light as a bic lighter.
