I received this book as a gift and love it! It has work and instructions by 3 different artists, so there was a variety of styles and projects. Instructions were detailed and the steps were easy to follow. I loved that the book was not just a basic set of instructions but it had a lot of hints and tips on materials, technique, and color selection to help you go beyond the projects and develop your own style. It's a large, quality book with thick paper and beautiful detailed photos.I'll add more photos as I paint more rocks using the instructions in the book. There is so much material here that I will be painting for a while. Highly recommended.

I guess this is the first book for my stoned art collection. As I am still searching for more of an art and technique book, this one doesn't have that much about technique etc. Most people can copy a simple design by looking at it. The 35+ projects are mostly mandala type designs or backgrounds for small shapes of turtle, dragonfly etc. Those will give me a chance to try out the (copy and paste in the browser bar, as there is no link maker here) https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B06WWKZRLS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 will review that one later. Owl, fish, and fox are the only ONLY animals and they are covered in the same style pattern. All in all pretty much worth the $14.00.

One of the duller and less inspired of the rock painting books and tutorials out there.The book focuses more on copying their relatively less inspired designs than 'how to' paint rocks. As far as the how to goes, You Tube provides terrific videos. Look up tools for rock painting mandalas on you tube (even if you don't want to paint a mandala) and you'll get better information than this book provides. I consider it a waste of money.

There are so many cool designs in this book for those of you painting rocks at any level. You'll get inspiration and many ideas from this book. I use mine for reference all the time. Love, love, love the book. It shows you step by step how to achieve the look and have variations on each theme. I enjoy looking at the book as much as I do making the projects. Fun to look at, inspiring, and easy-to-follow instructions.

This book is ideal for getting inspired in your rock painting whether you are new or a well seasoned rock painter. Plenty of ideas here for all!

This is a great book for anyone who is wanting to learn to paint rocks. Gave to my granddaughter, who is 15, and she is painting every time I see her....she is really getting good!

Lovely pictures and they do inspire. Pictures of progress of a piece of work guide progress. I think that the experienced artis would not actually need these in such detail - but they are their for the beginner. Of the designs I prefer the one on bottom right of cover - only one like this. Incidentally you don' have to use stones, salt downs or air dried clay are possibilities if stones are not available, also our local wood yards sells a full range different sized stone, so does the garden centre - worth exploring if you are not by a beach!My only complaint, and one I have had to make before, is making a new/used purchase - looking through look good, until I discovered in all, that 8 pages were torn from bottom to half way up. In order to solve the problem I happened to have some sticky back plastic and carefully put the pages together again.

I am new to rock painting and needed some inspiration. This book has been great for that. Its just a bit of fun for me and helps me relax. Many of the designs shown are well above my skills but I just used them as a guide really and added my own twist to them. A lovely book at a good price.
