AMAZING
I already knew it, but now it’s official: The Rebel is one of my favourite books of all time, has the most perfect couple and Miles is my favourite H!My favourite trope is, without a doubt, forbidden romance. So when I read the blurb for The Rebel, I was over the moon to see that Sophie, who has become one of my favourite authors, would write a book with a forbidden love, being the H the character I’ve been so crazy about. You know when you’ve been waiting for something for so long and you have such high expectations that you’ve daydream about the moment when you can get it in your hands? Well, that was me before the Rebel. You can imagine how excited I was when I finally got this book in my ereader. And boy, I wasn’t ready for it…This book surpassed all my expectations. It completely blew me away!I’ve been obsessed with Miles for so long! He’s the son of Aida and Cal, the couple who started it all for me. He's the perfect mix of his parents: funny and mischievous like Aida and focused and ruthless like Cal. I so wanted to see Miles and Aida’s interactions, and Sophie did not disapppointed.Their relationship and connection absolutely melted my heart. It was everything I could ever wish.Miles… he’s everything I dreamed of and more. Before his story came out I was already so deeply in love with him, and this book only cemented that. He may seem like he doesn’t give a crap about anything, but he just needed to meet the ONE.I love how he doesn’t get scared of commitment. He fights for what he wants, and even when things get rough, and it seems like there’s no possible way out, he doesn’t give up. He finds a way, even if it means losing everything, except the love of his life. The way he loves Zoe is so pure, so deep, so strongly. Their bound is unbreakable. Can you imagine what it must be like to have someone willing to do anything to be with you? Risking everything for love? That’s Miles. It’s the little things he does for Zoe. How he pays attention to what she says, her likes, her needs, giving her a voice, putting her wants and needs first. Aww, he’s so damn perfect!!The truest gift you can ever give to someone is to set them free. Free of shackles, free of people trying to control you and dictate what you must do and not do, free to finally be who she really is, to embrace her tue self, without fear. That’s true love, in its purest form.Ahh, I need a Miles in my life, someone willing to fight for me till the ends of the Earth, that loves me as deeply as Miles loves Zoe.Zoe… I love her! She’s inteligent, beautiful, so strong, perfect for Miles, in every single way. She was always so self conscious of her figure, because she didn’t want to atract the wrong kind of male attention. But, with Miles, she finally felt sexy and comfortable enough in her own body. She's the best influence on Miles, bringing out the best in him.And damn! Their intimate scenes!! I literally died! He is a dirty talker, he’s the right amount of possessive about his girl, he’s a dancer, he’s funny… I could be here all day talking about Miles’ qualities and it wouldn’t be enough! The library, the cathedral (my favourite scene, ALL OF IT!), the aquarium scene (where we got to see many of the OGs *squealing*) these scenes were so memorable! Now Cat… She’s Zoe’s sister, and the 3rd POV of the book. I must confess I wasn’t very sold on her in the beggining, but did the kitty grow some claws! By the end of the book, she had completely won me over.I’m very curious for her and Dean’s book, The Bully (Kingmakers #3).They way The Rebel ended, left me full of curiosity on how this book will enroll. I need Dean’s reddemption! And to see him finally receiving (and accepting) the love he so desperately needs and doesn’t want to admit to wanting. This book started off a bit slow, focusing a lot on descriptions and details and I was like “Nooo. I just want Miles and Zoe, together!!”. But when we finally got to it, damn, I was in love! The Rebel gave me ALL the feels. I laughed, swooned, melted, got angry, cried… Oh, did I cry! There was a scene that completly broke me…It was so good to go back to Kingmakers. The way Sophie writes, makes you feel like you’re there with the characters, it feels like the book sucks you in and you get inside the story, living the scenes right there with the characters. The only critic I have is that I wish this book had focused more on the romance. Don’t get me wrong, we got plenty of romantic scenes, but sometimes I think the descriptions and other characters got in the way, stealing time where we could have gotten more scenes with only Miles and Zoe.Now, if you don’t know Miles already, shame on you! Go fix that right this second, cause everyone needs Miles in their lives.5 starsI kindly received an ARC for this book and I’m voluntarily leaving a review.

Book Review
“Every choice sets the table. Sooner or later, we all sit down to a banquet of consequences”6 hours and 30 mins. That's how long it took me to read this bad boy. I don't think I have ever read a 500-page book in this short of time. I just couldn't put it down. Aida and Callum were my favourites from the Brutal Birthright series so I was super excited for Miles's story. Let me just say, it did not disappoint. The plot was super clever. I didn't realise how invested I was in the side characters until they were put in danger. My heart rate was through the roof. I was actually biting my nails from nerves. Also, the ending?!? Holy cow. Cat is a badass. 5 stars.Read time: 6h 34minsReading sessions: 4

🖤 Miles & Zoe 🖤
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5/6 stars.🌶️🌶️.5/5.I really loved Miles and Zoe together and I loved how assertive he is. I loved how much he admired his mom and the type of person he is. Zoe disappointed me a bit towards the end just because I had a certain expectation of her. She let me down when she didn’t think that Rocco would do something after everything went down. She was one of the first to notice how much disturbed Rocco was and to which lengths he would go and she just didn’t seem like the smart girl she was. On the other hand Cat was there. At first I was a bit annoyed with how many Cat povs we have but I also realized why we would have so many of her povs and midway through I had my answers.I wasn’t sure about Cat at the beginning but now I’m all in for her story and I’m hoping she flourish even more with Dean’s help. I loved Cat’s journey in this, going from being innocent in all ways to being strong, clever and seeing through minor things that others wouldn’t. I really hope she turns out to be a great spy, she has all the makings for being an amazing one.

Overall, 4/5 stars with 3/5 steam.
MILES! That is all.Only kidding :)This is book #2 in the Kingmakers however can be read as a standalone.Zoe is introduced to us as the 19 year old whose life has already been signed away to an evil boy. With her father mad at her for not being a boy, he did the next best thing & ensured an arranged marriage to fellow high mafia family would bring honour to his family. He couldn't have a boy so he bought in a boy. If only the boy in question, actually treated Zoe with respect. Zoe bargained with her father to let her go to Kingmakers Academy before she is doomed for life with Rocco. In which her father agrees. This is where she meets the lovable intelligent Miles.Miles Griffin is the cousin to Leo from the previous book. We met him & automatically loved him with his "no problems" attitude. He solved any problem, large & small. But also was good at being sneaky & creating problems. He is the rebel. And when he meets proper cut Zoe, they couldn't be further from the opposite. But with connection like no other, he will have Zoe, even if she is arranged to be married. The character growth in this book was phenomenal. Well done Sophie. I went on being unsure about Zoe (because of her goodie two shoes ways), to absolutely loving her! I wanted to protect her but also support her because she was the perfect match to Miles. They both bought out the best in each other & when together, were a force you didn't want to argue with.I will say that this book was a bit slow for about the first 30%. This story is told via 3x POVS - Zoe, Miles & Zoe's younger sister; Cat, with the last POV not needed. I don't personally like when there is more than 2x POVs. I get distracted.Cat's POV was not necessary the whole way through. I understand at the end why the author chose to include Cat's POV, but it wasn't necessary till the end. I got bored & actually skimmed her chapters, wanting more Miles & Zoe.Unlike The Heir, there is a mafia subplot in this book which I really enjoyed. We got to read & see how Miles would be as a future mafia boss if he ever needs to be.There is also an unnecessary death in this book which made me shut the book & curse at the author. But that is all I am saying as I want to keep this spoiler free.As these books seem to be getting better as I read on - I am excited to start The Bully next! Which is about Cat and Dean (the villain in the Heir)!
