A: Tie books together? If you are talking about book "binding" I don't believe it would be strong enough. If your tying two books together then it is more than strong enough.

**Q: Do you need scissora or can you break it with your hands?**
A: This black natural cotton craft string is strong so you need scissors. Thanks.

**Q: Is it strong enough to stay straight if you hold a 2 inch piece or does it drop? I need sturdy twine for crafts with a child**
A: This is very strong twine, but it is not ridged. If you need pieces that are 2 inches or more to remain straight and ridged you might try pipe cleaners. You also could starch the twine, let it dry and it should remain straight for whatever length you want. Starch can be purchased at a grocery store. Many years ago shirts were starched in starch liquid, dried, then ironed to make them wrinkle free and stiff.
