Review: Solid, Fun-to-Ride Schwinn Bike - I bought this bike because I thought that a fixed gear would be easier to assemble and I was right. Even though the printed manual was for a Hybrid Schwinn, it still made sense and the assembly went quickly and smoothly. I spoke zero swear words, a new record for an assembly. The front brakes needed basic adjusting and after making sure all the nuts and bolts were tight, I was on my way. The bike rode well--fast and steady with good traction on asphalt and concrete. After riding a bargain brand bike for a few years, it felt good to go back to Schwinn.
Review: Best new bike for the price. - This bike does not come assembled but it is pretty easy to assemble if you have the right size wrench and Allen tools. I have now rode this bike a few hundred miles, mostly over pavement but also over some light trails with roots running across them as well. It is geared towards being a city bike but can handle dry dirt and some light trails as long as they are not too steep. Actually it is more geared towards flat ground riding as the brakes are not made for stopping when going downhill. I am just a casual rider and can usually maintain 12 -13 mph on this bike for 20+ miles. It is as lightweight a bike and as good a quality as you will get for the price of just $152. This bike is easily capable of going well over 20 miles per hour on pavement downhill especially and the brakes are not going to stop you if you get going that fast the only way to stop is to ride it out or crash at higher speeds. Overall a very good bike that I am very pleased with especially for the price. It handles gravel fantastically as well as pavement and as I said, I have taken it on some easy trails. It does not however ride well in the mud. Keep an allen tool on you while riding. The handlebar can sometimes loosen if jarred too much (like you have a poorly maintained cracked road or ride on a trail) The only downsides I can think of if using as intended are the just ok brakes that will not stop you downhill and that you absolutely need to be at least 5'10" or taller to ride this bike.

**Q: I would like the comfort of a fixed gear coupled with the joy of coasting down a hill? Does this bike coast or would I go crazy paddling all the time?**
A: It is shipped in a single-gear configuration, which allows the bike to coast. The rear wheel needs to be removed and flipped around to be configured as a fixed gear.

**Q: I need to replace my bb axle on my kedzie. how do i figure the correct size?**
A: Take the existing one out (you'll need a spindle wrench) and bring the axle to a bike store for measuring for the replacement.  They'll set you up with a new one; costs should be about $15.  When replacing it, you should also replace the bearings.

**Q: Is there a fender that goes with the bike to prevent mud stains on your clothes while riding in wet conditions?**
A: The bike we purchased on Amazon does not come with front or rear fenders, just a chain guard. It is a great bike and rides well. We ride in rain country, and this has not proved to be a problem. You may investigate after-market fenders if this is a concern. Great value too.

**Q: I am an adult 5’8 180 pounds. Would it work comfortably?**
A: 30 yr old, 6'2" and 190lbs. Works very well for me. I Use it for work commuter.

I bought this bike because I thought that a fixed gear would be easier to assemble and I was right. Even though the printed manual was for a Hybrid Schwinn, it still made sense and the assembly went quickly and smoothly. I spoke zero swear words, a new record for an assembly. The front brakes needed basic adjusting and after making sure all the nuts and bolts were tight, I was on my way. The bike rode well--fast and steady with good traction on asphalt and concrete. After riding a bargain brand bike for a few years, it felt good to go back to Schwinn.

This bike does not come assembled but it is pretty easy to assemble if you have the right size wrench and Allen tools. Great bike also came with both sprockets the fixed gear and free spin sprocket even tho they say that it only comes the free spin so I’m very happy with it If your having issues with your brakes they just need adjustment and a break in you can always take it down to your local bike shop for adjustments. I also recommend the Nextcover seat for this bike it’s very comfortable and has memory foam
