The Art of Star Wars: The High Republic: (Volume One)

I must admit, I wasn't expecting big things from this, so I wasn't disappointed. The first thing any collector of previous Art of Star Wars books will notice is the reduced size - it's square rather than the previous "widescreen" orientation. It's part Art, part "Making of", as there's a lot of text. The best art is reprinted Ralph McQuarrie material, with the new High Republic art being of far lesser quality. So it's an interesting collector's item, but unfortunately that's it, really. Unless you're an avid Art of book collector like me, or very into the High Republic material, I would honestly give this a miss.

As someone who’s been enjoying the High Republic books & comics, this was something I was really looking forward to & boy did it deliver.This book is packed with tons of concept artwork, final character designs (to help put faces to names), and details about the plotting of this era of Star Wars stories.My only complaint is that Amazon can’t seem to package books in a way that doesn’t result in receiving a damaged product - I mean seriously, you’d think a site that started as an online bookstore would know how to package and ship books with care!I’d highly recommend this book, but I’d also recommend purchasing it from a retailer that cares about books and knows how to package/ship them.

Amazing pictures!

I use this as a reference for my drawing and painting. Like the other Art Of books I have of star wars, it's wonderful, glad I bought it, like i did those other star wars art books.

The media could not be loaded.  Love the quality of this art book, beautiful pictures. I love seeing the behind the scenes. Got this as a companion as I start my journey reading the high republic. Really brings the characters to life. Great for any collector.
