THESE "KEEN NEWPORT H2" SANDLES - ARE WORTH EVERY DOLLAR SPENT
I am not a sandle wearing guy. The wife "suggested" sandles. Ok-I am so glad I chose theese Keen Newport H2. These Keen Sandles are really incredibly comfortable to walk around in. They have the comfort of a good walking shoe with an arch support, toe gaurd and the comfort of a beach, and versatility of water shoes. They dry quickly, easy on and off wet or dry. Very good sandle/ walking/water shoe. I typically wear an 11 EE, I tried the 11- Wide and the fit is perfect. They provide good stability. I rarely rave about any shoe, but these Keens are really confortable walking the sandy beach, in the water or shopping somewhere. A bit pricy, but I must admit it- this Sandle is actually worth it's price. You won't be disappointed.

Excellent sandals but buy half size larger
Brown and gold H2. Tend to run smaller and narrow. Great for people who have a narrow foot but buy half over regular size. Great color. Have bought this brand for years . Long lasting very comfortable. Do tend to trap pebbles between foot and bed of sandal. Only bad comment i can make . they are good in water sure footed dry quickly. Not as good in loose rocky terrains but not a deal breaker. Good arch support rear strap is a little hard to get on but comfortable once on. Draw string on top works well hold is good. Will continue to buy

Excellent sandals, durable and versatile
Quality: Rock solid Comfort: I recently developed plantar fasciitis and purchased all types of shoes and sandals, from zero drop to extra cushion, and this pair is the only thing that works. I've been using it everyday and everywhere. Pricing: Ok

Soles are a bit too hard for older folks
I think the soles of these hiking sandals are just too hard for us older gentlemen... Iโm 62, and pretty active. I work from home so I can exercise every morning, and every afternoon alternate between walking 1.25 miles on pavement and swimming 3/4 miles. The first time I walked the 1.25 miles in these sandals I got a hot spot on the outside of my right little toe. No problem... my bad... I should have worn socks the first long walk to stretch these out a little and smooth any rough spots. The next two 1.25 mile walks I wore socks, and 15-20 miles later, the hot spot has not came back. But, also the first 1.25 mile walk I had a very sore arch in my left foot and both hip joints were sore. I tried different walking styles and wore the sandals around the house to get them broken in. Well, after 15-20 miles, Iโve decided that the soles are just too hard. I think the hard soles make me pound my feet down when I walk, which is causing the sore hips. This has also pulled that tendon in the arch of my left foot. And, neither pain is going away completely... the pain is slightly better, but not enough. I donโt think I have weird feet, or am prone to foot/walking issues. I normally wear Merrellโs and also wear Teva and Sperry sandals, so I can handle arches or no arches just fine. Iโve heard that as we age we lose fat padding in our hands and feet. I think that lack of natural padding and these hard soles are just a bad combination. So, if youโre approaching gray beard age, these might not be the best choice. My wife really likes hers, but she hasnโt walked as far as I have yet. I thought about adding an insert for padding, but with the somewhat open heel, I thought the insert might shift around too much. So, I just finished my first 1.25 mile walk in a pair of Teva Omnium 2 Sport Sandals. They are new and I wore socks. The Tevaโs have a noticeably softer sole... not spongy, but just soft enough for my old feet. Not only did my hips do just fine, but the arch tendon feels just as good as when I started the walk. I think Iโll have to early retire the Keenโs. Other than the hard sole of the Keenโs: Both the Tevaโs and the Keenโs are great looking and feeling hiking sandals. We wanted hiking sandals for an upcoming active trip to Costa Rica. Either of these are perfect for that type of trip IMHO. I wore the Keenโs on a kayaking outing last weekend. Had to carry the kayak over wet rocks a bit and the Keenโs were great... they had solid grip and I didnโt feel the rocks through the soles. The next morning they weren't quite dry, but close. Theyโre a little hard to get on, but you quickly get used to pulling that back strap really hard to get them over your heel. They fit snug which is what you want for hiking up and down hills. So, wear socks the first mile or so... and if it feels like youโre pounding your feet down when you walk, these Keen soles are probably too hard for you as well.

Initial Reaction - 4.5/5.0
I have not had a chance to wear these extensively other than trying them on, walking around the house and inspecting the quality. I will base my review on initial Fit, Comfort, Quality and Appearance. First, let me say I purchased these for fishing/wading rivers and the hiking that might be involved with those endeavors. The purpose of my review is to mainly assist those in trying to select the right size. Fit: 5/5 - I normally wear a 10/10.5 shoe wearing normal, medium thickness socks, depending on the brand of shoe. II plan to use these only without socks, so I purchased a size 10.5 based on the reviews. They were snug to put on, but comfortable once on. This is exactly the fit I was looking for. I have a wide foot and it was plenty wide for me. There was enough room in the toe cap for my toes. Just be sure to loosen up the bungee strap to assist when putting them on. Comfort: 4.5/5 - The comfort seems very good. The sole has arch support but also seems flexible enough to deal with various terrain. I subtracted .5 because it might have been better to have an adjustable heel strap for personalizing the fit better as the shoe breaks in. Time will tell. Perhaps it isn't necessary. Quality: 4.5/5 - After my initial visual inspection and walk around, I feel these are well made and will last. Subtracting .5 because I did see some minor fabric fraying on the straps. Once again, only time will tell. Appearance: 5/5 - Sporty and attractive IMHO. Can serve multiple purposes.

Best Sandals Ever!
These are the best sandals ever! I just replaced my first pair with the same after 5 years. The arch support is great. I live in Arizona so I wear these A LOT (every day for eight months of the year). These have held up under occasional trail hiking and lots of day-to-day walking and activity. My old pair still look pretty good and the soles are still intact but the strap seams on the side are finally coming loose. Obviously, I would buy these again.

So comfortable. Great for every day wear, or for warm weather hiking!
I love these shoes/sandals. The sizing is just perfect, the shoes are lightweight and are very comfortable right out of the box (not usually what happens for me, did a three mile walk with the dog the first time that I wore them) I needed waterproof, closed toed sandals for walking/hiking on rocky beaches in Greece, they're great for that, but I'll be wearing them regularly in warm weather. For sizing, I wear a size 13 for most shoes, 14 for running shoes. The size 13's fit me perfectly in the Keen Newports, one thing that I'll mention, when pulling them on it seems like they are going to be tight but they just wrap around and cuddle my feet, I've never had to adjust the laces after the first time.

From Motorcycles to Sailboats and from Mountain Hikes to Beach Walks - I. Love. My. Keens.
This is my second pair of KEENs. I purchased my first pair while on a family vacation at least 10 years ago - when we were going on a river drift and I wanted something I could hit rocks with that wouldn't get waterlogged and wouldn't hurt my feet. I wore that pair extensively for those 10 years - on trips to all corners of the world, on boats and to the beach. They were great. So when it was time to replace them, it was a no-brainer to get another pair of KEENs. I did order a pair of Tevas at the same time and ended up returning those (I had intended to keep both the Teva's and the KEEN's, but after a short while it became clear to me that I only needed flip-flops and KEENs, the Tevas were redundant and didn't suit my needs as well as the KEENs did). During the summer, if I'm not at work, I'm usually in my KEENs. These are a great all-around summer shoe. The rubber enclosure up front protects your toes, they are comfortable, keep your feet cool, and are durable. The only downsides: * They tend to be just a wee bit small. I considered going up a half-size this time, but decided to stay with my standard size because it is more comfortable once it is on. Because of this, they're a little more difficult to slip on that I'd like (even if I loosen the draw string). This size problem was ultimately the downfall of my last pair - when I impatiently pulled them on and applied too much force, one of the back straps tore - and they never fit the same again. It appears that this has now been reinforced, but I suggest gentleness when pulling them on. * Because they have openings, it is easy to get dirt or rocks into them when hiking or in the water. And because they have a closed toe, it can be difficult to get those out. But I'm not sure that there is any realistic way to avoid that.

Loved the shoe from Keen.
Though the Amazon seller sent the wrong size, but I only realised it after using the pair. If you're looking for a shoe that's great for hikes around water, this one is very comfortable and provides excellent grip, even when crossing streams. I recommend going half a size up if you plan to use them in water, as they tend to fit better that way.
