Works great. We used this sticky ribbon for a somewhat unique purpose and it worked really well. We wrapped the ribbon around a wooden post that we use to mount a Hummingbird feeder in order to keep ants and other insects from finding the sugar water and damaging the food source. Absent this ribbon, ants would find the food in a matter of days. With the ribbon, no ants, nor are any of them caught by the adhesive. They simply avoid the area. The sticky surface makes it easy to apply and remove the ribbon. Just wrap the post and peel it off when needed. The adhesive remains soft and pliable for an extended period of time so the tape is easily applied and removed without any cleanup necessary.

Bought product to trap lantern fly instars. This tape didn’t catch anything but dust and very light/small flies. I bought it because it looked like it would adapt better to the irregular shape of the tree trunk. It did but it hardly performed as expected. It is simply not adhesive enough to trap anything bigger than a midge.

Works as advertised recommend wearing gloves when handling very sticky

Very Sticky and Oily - product does work. Make sure that you wrap around twice so that the material sticks to itself. We found that it released unless you doubled it up.

UPDATE: I realize I bought the wrong product and this explicitly states to not use on trees. I'm trying to use this around my trees for the spotted lanternfly outbreak.The adhesive is actually not that sticky - it's kind of wet like after an adhesive tape sits out in the sun too long and starts to melt.It seems decent at catching mosquitoes.It's not so great at catching lanternfly nymphs. I've watched them feel the tape with their front legs and then turn around and walk the other way. The lanternfly nymphs won't walk over it but they're not caught by it either. I'll update if it works any better with the adult lanternflys, but I don't see how it would.The sticky stuff will get on your fingers and on your scissors when you are cutting and applying it. Then, it does NOT come off with dish soap and water... so it does seem pretty waterproof... it won't wash off. You just need to wipe it off with a rag or paper towel.

I had a terrible white fly infestation on my indoor plants. I hung strips of this tape up using masking tape and it caught a ton of the flys. The only problem is that the tape is hard to handle because it is sticky on both sides. I used disposable gloves and a pocket knife to cut the tape. I found that Clorox wipes will clean off the adhesive. Other than having to be careful the tape doesn’t touch anything it works great.
