This has all the critical features for a professional accountant or for heavy duty office use for a business.For me, the "LPS", or lines per second, is the most important element for a desktop calculator. This modelis rated at 3.7, which exceeds my personal minimum requirement of 3.5. Anything less than that and it can't keep up to my data entry speed."Budget" desktop calculators that are more suited for home or light office duty typically print at 2.5 LPS or less, and tend to produce loud "chatter" and print "lag".This machine is quick and designed in such a way that "muffles" the sound, which makes it a much more pleasurableexperience. It's also surprisingly compact for a full featured desktop, it's about a full inch shorter than my formercalculator that just bit the dust.And, of course, it has a million features that you don't need and will never use or even realize are available.And, FWIW, it looks pretty good, has a nice overall design.Highly recommended.

I've had mine for about a week. I've used it three times. I'm used to regular calculators. I'm finding out printing ones work quite differently than regular ones. For example, when I tried to add 5+4, I pressed the = key, expecting to get 9 as the correct answer. Instead, I got 5 as the answer. I found out that to do simple addition (like 5+4) & get the correct answer (in this case, 9) press the + plus button after pressing 5+4. Clearly, there's learning curve involved! As for the printing calculator itself, it seems to be well-made & sturdy, with large, nicely-spaced, well laid-out keys. It has an easy-to-read, green display. I was able to successfully feed the printing paper on the first try. It's larger & heavier than I thought it would be. The AC power cord is permanantly attached to the back of if it. The included CR2032 battery (which retains the clock, calendar, currency conversion, & tax info settings when it's turned- off & unplugged) was already installed. After reading the included instructions, I was able to successfully program the date & time (both of which are helpful features to have). There's a small, gray, cup-like thing that was included with it. I'm not sure what it's for. I'm guessing it might be a pen holder or something. I'll try to remember to update my review at a later time, after I've used it more & have learned more about it.

This adding machine with a tape is replacing another Canon one that lasted 30 years--albeit only used at tax time. This one has more "bells and whistles" than I actually need. I chose it because it had the option of a cord that I could actually plug-in to use, rather than depending on expensive lithium batteries. In its defense, the machine is fast and has a ten-key arrangement of the numbers. My criticisms are twofold. The cord is far too short, and it is necessary to use an extension cord. Secondly, if you leave the machine unattended for 5 minutes, it turns itself off in an attempt to save on the electric bill. Frankly, that feature is a bit annoying.
