Gel is very difficult to work with, as it does not reach the clogged area rapidly and there is no way to move it along except for adding water to the drain. Obviously, the product is washed down with the water and cannot attack the clog without adding more gel solution. This Zep product is liquid, not gel, and goes right to the clogged area. The only thing you need to add is time. After the specified time, rinse the drain thoroughly. You save much more product with this version than with the gel version. **Q: Does this work in standing water?** A: There is water in the pipe if its clogged so I guess it would work. But its strong so might mar the surface of the sink if left too long. Good Luck **Q: How many 64oz containers are in a case?** A: I only purchased a single 64 ounce bottle of this product which seems to be the only option currently available on Amazon. I do not see any bulk/case quantities offered. **Q: Can this be used in toilets?** A: I've used this in my tub and sink drains for many years and love it. It wouldn't hurt to use this in the toilet, but not sure it would help either.
