(私語がやまないクラスの教師のことば）を考えてみよう｡本来であれば、Could you stop…?というべきであるが、you には話者が相手を指さして「おい君たち」といったとがった雰囲気がある。weだととがった雰囲気を丸くする効果がある。このようなpoliteness の観点からみたwe の用法は，評者の見た学習英和辞典にも言及されていない。本書にはこのような有益な指摘が社会心理学的な観点から随処でなされている。いわゆる語用論研究でないので，少し取っつきにくいが、目を通す価値のある書である

I have just started reading my book and love the easy style Professor Pennebaker presents his research and arguments. Given my interest and professional activities in the field of psychology, I am much looking forward to the insights in human behavior I will gain from this book.

Great book with solid rationale behind most positions taken. It can take a bit of a leap and risks oversimplification in some areas in my isolated opinion. Regardless of that, it's well worth a read and will have you second guessing your own syntax going forward.
