Bender's Great*10-grandfather is solidly made.
Bender's great*10-grandfather. Only used it for two bends, but it's heavy duty, well crafted, definitely something I could see using in the future. I bought it to bend some brake line, then realized that the brake line metal was actually easily bendable and it was far easier to hand bend then to use this. However, those two bends I did with the tool were easy enough. If I have to use it again in the future I may edit my review, but for now I'll say it's solidly built and seems like it would work well on harder tubes.

What? No 3/16ths?
What? No 3/16ths? It's well made and does what it does, but if you're looking for a bender to do 3/16th brake line, you want something else. The Robinair 18548 is what you want. If you want to bend any of the sizes this thing is designed for, it'll work great. You can use the 1/4 inch channel for 3/16ths but the tubing will have a tendency to slip. It'll work, but not nearly as well as a proper fit.

Standard Tool
Its a decent heavy duty bender. Used it for stainless steel fuel and brake lines, and it worked great. Not the greatest for bending smaller lines, because it makes too big of a round bend instead of shorter sharper bend for certain situations with 3/16 brake line. The black paint was a little cheaper then I thought. Just by putting it down on the ground, it start chipping and scratching off. Not saying that the tool shouldn't wear and tear over time of heavy use. Just saying paint was cheaper than usual paint used on other tools. It's okay, its only paint. The tool itself looks and feels like stainless steel. Don't know what type of metal its really made of so I can't say what the hardest metal pipe you can bend, but I can say it bends stainless steel pipe lines. I consider this tool a basic and standard Tube Bender. Its not cheaply made and its not high quality either. Just standard.

Worked as it was supposed to.
Accuracy is only as good as the person using it, made for softer tubing not good for stainless but I knew that before purchase. Saved me a lot of money from buying pre-bent tubing.

Perfect! Works just fine!
I'm with the Local 198 Union and I use this mainly on supply tubes and flex copper. it is dimensioned perfectly! all of my offsets come out perfect with 1.414. 90 degree 45 degree and 180 degree is precise! its small convenient and it just as precise as the rigid brand. and compact size makes it perfect to just throw in a bucket. others are unnecessarily big. Love it

Clean Bends
Nice tool. Snap on wants over $65 for the same tool. It bends very nicely buy it takes some coordination to get the angle of the bends just right. Still worth the money.

I didn't read the specs closely enough when I bought it, and was worried after I purchased this whether or not I could use it on 3/16 nicopp brake line because it only says it goes down to 1/4. Another review seemed to indicate it wouldn't work well due to slippage. But I tried it on some 3/16 bulk nickel copper from Canadian Tire and it seemed to do a good job. Maybe there would be more slippage with a stiffer line like steel or stainless. I checked the line with a micrometer afterward and the line (3/16 inch is 187 mil) was widened out by only about 6 mils across the plane of the bend, so it appears to be quite a safe bend radius too, no kinking.

Amazon, this bender allowed me to make new steel 5/16" transmission lines for my antique muscle car equivalent or even better than the factory lines. I had to make new lines because I installed a newer transmission in my original factory car and the newer transmission required different length lines than the original lines which would not work for my application. They look as though they were factory installed in my car and needless to say I was extremely delighted and satisfied. Then I custom made fuel lines from chrome 5/16" plumbing water supply lines to my carburetor. Amazing tool.

Good quality tubing bender. I'm in the process of changing all the hard brake lines on my car and this handy tool makes creating those bends super easy.

Do we even need to doubt the tool? It's an OTC, good build quality, does what it is designed to do and does it well.
