Have been using this since I was a child. Works great in a vaporizer, not as strong as in the past. Rub it on your chest and you will feel it open up your lungs.

It has been increasingly difficult to find Mentholatum in drug and grocery stores in the last few years, and when you do come across it the jars on the shelves are usually the small ones. I finally decided to start buying the larger three-ounce jars in bulk just to guarantee having some on hand when I wanted it. The price from this seller is reasonable and the delivery was quick and problem free.I learned to rely on Mentholatum from my mother, and she had come to trust it because her mother (born 1874) always had it in the house. It is too good a product to let die, but I am afraid it is on its way out of the American home treatment market. In time I guess we will all have the chance to buy something else that is both more expensive and less effective.

I had been buying the 1oz tube and it helped in numerous ways. So I graduated to the 3oz jar. So long as you don't use it where prohibited like the eyes, I don't think you can go wrong with this product. It is a soothing balm, a decongestant; an analgesic of myriad attributes. Rub it on your chest at night; it soothes by morning, and makes breathing easier. Sometimes I rub a little above my upper lip, just under my nostrils, and I breathe it in...not only is the smell attractive, the feeling is good, soothing. I've it used on skin discoloration I had, the discoloration is still there but I notice it less. Maybe that's psychological on my part because I've come to believe in this product so much. For joint and other body aches and pains, it really depends. There are stronger products designed specifically for those ailments. But I wouldn't be without Mentholatum Ointment. In the future, I will probably utilize the Subscribe and Save method of purchase. Incidentally, my local pharmacy was offering this at over $6 a jar. The Amazon price is less.

we call it "little nurse" and it's used for every cut, burn, scab...etc. As far as I know, every household where I was from has one.I use it on my foot heel to soothe the crack during winter dry weather. I keep a jar in every room of my house (a bit of OCD) to ease paper cut (especially during winter), knife cut (kitchen accident), stuffy nose (rub under the nose)...etc.
