Work on Your Accent: Clearer Pronunciation for Better Communication

Very usefull for teachers of english who focus on pronunciation.

Great book! Enormous help with accent, practical examples and clear instructions! Highly recommended!

I will leave a full review of the book once I've read it, however for those who wonder how to access the audio/video files referenced in the book:There's a web address on the back cover of the book. When you open the page,select the relevant book and there will be instructions on how to access the files.The password is a word from a particular page on the book. The first release of this book used to come with a DVD, however that's not the case anymore- all the files are online.The publisher should update the book with clear instructions on how to access them. Apart from this,it does seem like a pretty good book.

I bought this book because I wanted to work on my accent and I was excited about the book focused on this topic because it was supposed to include CD/DVD (thanks to that, I could listen to the correct pronunciation). However, the book came without any CDs/DVDs and is completely useless without it for me (even though on the cover, it states that it contains CD). Definitely not recommended.

The book itself seems very good; clearly written and well constructed. Unfortunately the description doesn't tell you it's not for native English speakers like me who want to improve their accent and diction, it is intended for those who speak English as a second language. I discovered this in the book's introduction.More importantly, the book relies upon a large number of audio and video files which have to be downloaded from the website. Of my four devices, running both Windows and Android, it is not possible to open any of these files, nor to find an app that will do so. Without access to these files in some usable form the book is nothing more than a rough guide.Such a pity the work of a good author has been failed by the online resources.

There is no DVD with the book, even though it says there is on page ii. They state on the cover "Audio and video online," but there is no direct link to these resources. Finally located them, but it could be signposted better. That said, this is a very good resource, and the materials seem excellent. The videos are very helpful. Looking forward to using it with my students.

No easy access to video and audio. You need to spend lots of time to get these online. Files are from 7 years ago and come in old weird formats. You need to transform them into newer formats and download programs to be able to watch them. Also, files will need to be opened and treated 1 by 1 and making it difficult and a hassle to work with them. Conclusion: bought this book 7 months ago and I havent used it as its highly inconvenient
