these mugs are brilliant for cooking soups and 3 bean soup, so beans should be fine. lid is not secure enough to transport food in. recommended. I dont know what a sausage spoon is though.

Is one supposed to remove the vent for cleaning? It looks as if it will clog with food & be difficult to clean.

Hi, I've used my mug quite a few times now with no issue. I heat chunky soups and the vent has not blocked. I just rinse the lid under a hot tap and all is fine. Very happy with my mug, better than the poundstore versions.

Can you use this to warm oil? Just to warm up not heat it through

Just tried it and the answer is, as S4C has said, "Using caution there shouldn't be an issue". But if you don't use caution then watch out! Making sure that the mug is completely dry, I suggest that add a little oil and then with the lid attached give it a few seconds and then test. Still cold? Try another few seconds and so on. That said, I won't be trying to heat oil in the mug again. The consequences of pressing for example the 10 minute key instead of the 10 second one due to a lack of concentration, have frightened me off.

Does one drink directly out of the cup? I have a disabled Aunt with bad arthritis in her hands so want to know how stiff the clip are to open.

Hello, yes I drink out of my cup, rally well constructed and light, the 3 clips are also easy to do up and undo, you will have no problem even with your aunt,s arthritis, saves loads of spills in the mircowave
